I got a 27" Iiyama Prolite E2773HS-GB1 for Christmas and I'm loving the HECK out of it!!
Not literally, of course... but it's very good fun, especially on games that scale properly. Skyrim and space sims are simply stunning.

Best part is the above-mentioned monitor arm, as it now converts to a mini-home theatre in my Den - Perfect for Beer & Biltong evenings watching cheesy 80s and 90s action films with a couple of mates!!

no, yes, no . . . it all depends.

The problem is that there's a lot of variables here.
    - resolution
    - distance from the screen
    - your eyeballs
    - your brain

How noticeable pixel density is depends on the size of the screen and how far away it is, with the additional factor of your eyesight.

Things like ghosting and frame rates is often more down to your brain and how much you notice it.

Heck even something like the game your are playing can have an effect
