Anyone play Project Reality for BF2? :)

    http://www.realitymod.com

In a nutshell, it's what BF2 should of been. No dumbing down of the weapons for gameplay purposes, proper squad based play and a slight tinkering of the gameplay to make things a little more exciting at times (flags have to be captured in a specific order, so no lone wolf running off to the other side of the map to capture quiet flags). There's limited sniping kits (normally only 2 per team on a 64 man sever) so you don't get a whole team of campers too.

It's a lot harder than BF2, and as a result the pace is somewhat slower, though the all new maps ensure you're never bored. VOIP is a must, as is joining a squad since certain kits are limited to squads which have a certain amount of members only. Sounds restrictive, but it really brings home how rewarding squad play can be, and 'persuades' you to play as a team rather than lone wolfing.

It's a hefty download at 1.6 gig and you need the BF2 v1.41 patch, but it's well worth it.

Yeah, it's seems popular. The best server seems to be one run by the .:iGi:. lads, which is a 54 man server - it's full virtually all the time. Plenty of others to go on whilst you wait though.

    Just a quick plug

    50Klicks.com have a 32 slot PR 0.5 Server currently running at: 193.60.3.105:16567

It is also ABR Ranked! (an alternative ranking system for mods - ranks and stats are available via BFHQ once you have installed the client software HERE )

ABR does NOT affect normal EA ranking....

We have a PR 0.5 arranged game currently scheduled for the 1st March - be great to see some sign ups from here - see our forums for details...

In not madly keen on AAS, as it prevents outflanking and capturing rear points. The mod itself is good, limited ammo and force mix restrictions, a little more thought required than usual.
We've a BF2 mod server over at deadmen.co.uk, with PRMM and POE2 available.

lo Macca - long time no speak mate. Haven't had BF2 installed for a while since they messed up the gameplay with the patches.

PR seems to be spot on though, I'm really enjoying it. I noticed you guys had a server, and have been on it a few times but it was a little unstable and I only ever saw about 4 people at the most on it. Time to pimp it a bit?

    lo er... lowe

It has been up and down this past week since we also have to use the same server for clan matches sometimes, but for the time being it is staying as PR 0.5....

And it seems to be a lot more popular now it's ranked for some reason

best way to describe it is BF2 with a pinch of CS and forcing you to play as a team within your squad. I'm loving that.

I've (for the very first time) turned my mind towards commanding - that docks map (forget what it is called) requires serious multi-squad coordination to attack on.

only at the every end did I manage to get each heli to wait on the ship until all were full of players.. and then get them to drop at the same time.

Yup, on a few of the maps if the squads don't work together witha proper commander then you're stuffed.

Al Basrah as AAS is another example when you're playing as the US. You need one squad to advance to the Mosque and then hide somewhere where they can capture it quickly. Then the rest of the team should head out to the Slums and the Facility. Once those two flags are captured the squad at the Mosque can move in and quickly grab the Mosque. If this all goes to plan you can get the Insurgents on the back foot very quickly and so long as the squad at the Mosque can hold on till backup arrives, you've got the map in hand.

Sadly, this rarely happens, with people too busy mincing about. On the upside, it's still a whole lot better than BF2 ever was
