I find it hard to believe that I have just received an infraction for my posting # 13 (unlucky number).

I don't mind infractions, and I don't mind being banned (but not for good though).
But do I really have to fly to the moon to walk my dog ? I don't wanna write to my MP. He has enough around his head.

But ... what about freedom of speech ?
I think forums are one of the best things in the world, but it seems only when opinions don't clash together. The world is not always sunshine and happiness.

Cov, I'm sick and tired of seeing people invoke this as an argument every time they get pulled up on something they've posted.

NO ONE is infringing on your right to freedom of speech. You're more than welcome to say whatever you like to the world... but WHERE you do it can be up to others to decide.

For example, if you want to rant about Steam, feel free. But to save undermining your rant, make sure you present a reasoned argument and not just a bunch of mud-slinging name calling.

And don't confuse 'freedom of speech' with 'freedom to condone, promote and encourage illegal activities' because we just don't allow it here. Is that infringing on your assumed right ot free speech? Not at all... we're not stopping you from going somewhere else and saying whatever you want, but we sure as hell won't allow it here.

This ISN'T stopping you from speaking your mind, it's stopping you from breaching our very clear forum rules, which you agreed to abide by when you signed up.

In short, it's a great big internet out there and there's room for everyone to say whatever they please... and we're not stopping you from going elsewhere and saying what you like, we're just warning you of what you can and can't post here.

Now your questions have been answered and clear explanations given, I'm closing this thread.

If anyone wants to discuss it further, feel free, as always, to drop me a PM.

    Nick
