it's nothign like the first game.

    * it's a fraction of the size.
    * they ditched any elements of "skill" by eliminating any incentive for using lesser weapons, since all ammo is the same & a pistol costs more ammo than a rocket launcher to kill someone with
    * they ditched any element of inventory management where a rocket launcher & pack of peanuts take the same inventory space
    * they ditched any skill to the rpg elements, by doing away with the skills system, and allowing any biomods to be bought at any time

it's pretty, sure, but it's not the same game. which is a shame since the first game rocked

Never played the first one - but 5 minutes of the demo for this one put me right off.

    Not for me, this one.

STALKER & HL2 are what I'm waiting for!

Yeah its pretty poor. On my PC for some reason it doesn't store the video settings at all so everytime I start it up I have to reconfigure. To get it running smoothly the BLOOM effect/option has to be turned off (Bloom gives it a weird soft glow type look similar to P.O.P : Sands Of Time, but Prince runs superb on my machine in high res and detail)

I have the patch installed but it doesn't do anything worthwhile at all. Just another game X Box got their hands on and completely ruined for PC players. Its more like a bog standard console arcade game

Deus Ex 2 was never going to live upto Deus Ex as that game was so new and different to anything else we had ever really seen. I don't think that Deus Ex 2 is a bad game, just that it doesn't come close to Deus Ex the original. It also runs badly on most computers (HL2 will run on pretty much anything) and is really easy if you take your time. I actually have more money than I could even spend in the game.

Deus Ex 2 is a dissapointment, it does have a "decent" storyline but ull find that the stealth side is gone because the guards can see u from miles away which means u can pop ur head out to find out where a guard is.
Maybe its not being released till March to solve these problems we will just need to see.

the thing that bothers me is that i played deus ex on my playstation 2 and it was great why did it have to be simplified the sequel for the xbox???

can't see them changin much for the european release as it is out already in the US unless u want to wite that press statement lol

    Dear US gamer,

We have sold u a crap game, it is so crap that we revamped it for the europeans, because they are more sopishicated than u lot, now go eat a cheese burger.

they can't change the game that much tho they might sort out the graphics so it doesnt look a slide show on my 9600xt.

no the Xbox is actually pretty amazing, you can use it (chipped etc) as a multimedia centre, play Divx's, you can put a hdd in it etc, it's a very adaptable item to have in your front room.

That's because it's a broken PC with a Microsoft stamp on it.

A shuttle XPC, or something else Mini-ITX is far better and doesn't require a modchip to "unbreak" it.

calling the xbox a pc is a little unfair. so it can run linux - so could my dreamcast, and my gamecube! those don't have intel chips in them. the xbox architecture closeley resembles that of a pc, yes, but it _IS_ a games console (unified architecture for one thing)

Well a m8 of mine (BeanFro) got his hands on an American Import from one of our local shops (its a bit dodgey, does chipping and stuff behind the scenes) just waiting for him to bring it over. I think the game might be a bit weak and after reading an interview with Warren Spector he just seems to spout rubbish, yes we've made some changes so the game could have a larger audience, in other words we botched the game together so it'll run on the x-box and we'll make lots of money. On another note i think PC only games are a dying breed, its far more profitable to have them on the X Box and then simply do an easy slopy port later.....most console ports to PC are token efforts to make more money.

That says it all doesn't it. Consoles are making it crapper for us

And then u see a game like Doom3 is gonna come on the "x-box" and most probably HL2, it just makes you wanna kill them x-box n00bs
