Attempted to decipher but no luck, perhaps if you went into a little more detail someone may be able to assist.

    Re: bf2 crashing to desktop

o_0 no offense but while reading your..paragraphs. I imagine you sitting in a chair, baseball cap turned to the side, spliff in mouth and loads of gold...anyway back to the problem at hand.

I would be inclined to say that running a game such as BF2 on a laptop will be quite a task, especially as that one doesnt have a dedicated graphics card (?)

Have you played BF2 on this laptop before?
Does the laptop play any other games without problems?
    Have you checked your temperatures?
Updated all the drivers you can?
    Turned Graphics settings down?
Sometimes changing the sound output can help.

When it crashes to desktop do you get any error message's?
Is it at a certain point?
What operating system? - If you are on Vista, try using compatibility mode. Not sure how to do this on Vista, if it's still the same right click the icon, compatibility mode then select another OS such as XP.

Ok we know its kicking you to desktop, but is it at a certain point? Map loading? Selecting something? Anything?

    Re: bf2 crashing to desktop

Are you patched to the latest release (1.41 IIRC)

What errors are you seeing, if any?

Run it in windowed mode to see if that helps - add "+menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1152 +szy 864" to your desktop shortcut and change the 1152 & 864 to suit your screen size.
    |Kata: "Read title as 'fisting'. Not sure why I clicked. Relieved, really."|
    |TAKTAK: "It was so small that mine wouldn't fit into it"|
