Worst game you actually parted money for?

My worst purchase was master of orion 3. something like 3 years in making and it was a complete mess and made no sense at all; i tried playing it for 2 hours and then uninstalled it. MOO2 is one of the all time great making the next installment a must purchase. The reviewers couldn't understand what was going on either so they stcuk 'for die-hard fans of the origional' as a conclusion because they didn't want to be lambasted for missing another classic.

Conflict: Denied Ops for PC

A desperate hunger for co-op multiplayer led my mate into the fatal error of buying a copy and nagging me into getting it too. Played for about half an hour before giving it up as a waste of time and firing up the hideously ancient Vietcong instead for a proper laugh.

A ****e port of what was probably a poor game even on console.

XIII. Save points. On a PC-based FPS. I got so hacked off that I didn't finish it, which is unusual for me.

I am not sure what is the worst, full stop, but of the ones I've paid the full £30, yet bored me out of my mind with Half-Life 1 (SP/DM). I forced myself to finish the game thinking that it will get better, and all the praise/glowing review can't be wrong, but it's just one of those games I didn't have fun. Thank goodness it was such a popular games with virtually everyone else, and mods like TFC/CS made the game almost worth the full price.

Still, I was so put off that I didn't bother with HL2 for a long time (until I could get it cheap), and that, I thought was a masterpiece worthy of all the praise.

Have anyone bought Superman 64? I've not played that, but after seeing the review at AVGN, I am quite sure it must be one of the worst game ever, and I'd be well annoyed if I bought it at any price.

Sin Episodes Emergence, god it was the most blandest shooter I've ever played. The only highlight was that Bianca Beauchamp was the booth babe at E3 06 dressed as Elexis Sinclaire from the game but that really has nothing to do with the gameplay.

id say it has to be BF2142

BF2 and all the expansion packs were awesome etc. 2142 just makes little sence with the new game modes etc. i played it for about 20 min (search georgy291 for exact time) and gave up. just seems pointless to me. its exactlylike bf2, just the logic is taken out

Space Force: Rogue Universe - could've been great but the controls are terrible and it just feels a bit naff. I found myself having more fun with the remake of privateer in the vega strike engine (highly recommend, its very good)
