The effects look very nice indeed and, seeing as there isn't a 300 series yet, there's no dependance on nVidia physx cards, just cards supporting dx11. Bonus

There is no reason why it couldn't support Physx though...Aegia cards, plus the ability to run ATI and nVidia in the same Windows 7 machine would allow it.

But nVidia don't allow that - they shut down any physics acceleration if they detect an ATI card.

Still, no reason why the game shouldn't support it.....we all know nvidia will release a DX11 part sooner-or-later......I would hate to think they designed a game solely for the 58xx series.

Of course they didn't - it's DX11, which nVidia will be able to play sooner or later as well. Plus the game still looks and plays well under dx10 and 9. PhysX doesn't really come into it.

Or a Phenom II.. so given the slowest Phenom II is quite slow, it's not that high a recommendation

Now we just gotta wait for the cards to be instock, its a shame nvidia will not release a purely physx card that works with ATI then they would have both sides....

They do, it doubles up as a graphics card and isn't usable with ATI for competition purposes depending on your view.

I've still yet to play a game where it makes a difference tbh. I sort of have my hopes hinged on BF:BC2 having uber destruction thanks to PhysX but then they'd have to have nVidia only servers, which i can't see happening
