Whats most interesting is a lot of his work is already in game. Vanguard, Mosquito, Lightning all use his designs. So yeah this is happening. Game is going to get a whole lot bigger

Nah mate, I am loving it. It's so fricking epicly huge! I am bit quiet on TS, just listening in, trying to understand the game, and seeing which classes I like best. Infiltrator and Heavy Assault suit me well.
I have hardly spent any Certifications yet as I just don't know what's best to spend them on, same goes for my SC that I accumulated from an old DCUO sub.
Struggling to understand weapon stats though with regards to rate of fire and reload speed. Are the bars showing a scale of how good they are, or the speed. For example, if the bar was full, does that means it's the best or does it mean it takes the longest? Coz I would think it was the latter, but some weapons I see with exact same stats but rate of fire, yet the lower one costs more, which doesn't make sense to me if it was the latter stat. Some weapons have blank bars as well... Very confusing!
Oh god have they not fixed the bars yet?
in the beta they where just using place holders, so no one exactly knew, why people kept asking for actual values not just bars with no meaning.
I've still yet to play, just haven't had the motivation since the beta.
I think I might be in a bit of a general gaming depressed lull atm

The bars show how good a weapon is but since this is Planetside 2 but they don't really mean much.
Bars are still meaningless yeah. Was meant to be a big patch to fix these bugs last week. Hopefully it'll come this week.
Since last Thursday the game has gone to hell in terms of client performance/server stability. Added some new pointless weapons, fixed a crashing bug and rolled out a double XP weekend. However its not at all working out.
Kinda glad I've been too busy to play these last few days. Sounds like most people have been banging their heads against the desk with the recent round of bugs.
I've no idea how server stability has got so bad. Beta was flawless for me apart from 1 server crash
Its irritating that the bars are useless, as because I have alpha squad and I don't remember them saying the fixed boosts and trials I have to trust the internet, and I've met you internet, you sometimes lie. Hoping the patch this week ups performance because I love this game, I am VS and proud but 15fps leads to being awful in fights as my gun jitters all over the place
Wednesdays patch was a huge bug fix patch. Apparently the first performance patch is going to be in the new year now.
That said on Wednesday I did have better performance. Audio quality was improved massively for me (explosions finally boom out my sub-woofer). Thing is there is still an issue of consistency. Last night was the opposite. From being bug free and having a great 4 hour session on Wednesday , Thursday was broken and buggy. For about 15 minutes I was falling through the world everytime I got in my Sunderer and then it disappeared!
Then I bought an item in the store that still hasn't appeared as it seems the store is broken for some people
Frustrating you can't have those epic night like Wednesday all the time. Still, Planetside 2 is a great game. Its a massive game. Lots has to come together to make it work properly. Patches are coming fast so thats a good sign we won't have to wait too long until its running smoothly.
I wouldn't call it a huge fix patch, it just naffed TR and made VS more OP'ed then they already are.
I wish they fix real issues like /re working everytime and adding nation chat other then "orders" which I believe has a big cooldown after use.
I was really excited about ps2 but i dont like where they took it , the user interface with unlocks is overcomplicated now it was very simple and easy before with unlocking certs and now its frankly a mess the guns dont seem to have the same punch as in ps1 they dont feel like your shooting a gun any more and bases are too cluttered tbh i would have prefered ps1 just with better graphics or this but with old bases layouts and subscription and not f2p unlock system. I started playing but i stopped after a few days and gone to play MWO.
I've heard that accumulating the in-game currency is really slow and many of the weapons are pretty much the exact same in appearance and hardly have a difference in stats. Is this true?
You earn 1 cert per 250 xp. So in a normal hour you earn about 50 certs and weapons cost 700 SC.
So spend some real money to buy some SC to buy the weapons you want, things like the Rocket Pods, Secondly weapons for your MBT and some Camo and whatever infantry weapons you might like.
After that, spend all the certs you earn on upgrading weapons, classes and vehicles.
Someone said it's slightly Pay2Win, for me it's one of the reasons I'm building a new rig. My current pc can barely run it :/
I was playing PS2 today. I have a Xeon E3 1220, which is basically a Core i5 2400, and a mate has a FX6300 running at around 4.3GHZ and we both have HD5850 1GB cards and installed the games onto our SSDs. We were on the busiest map and AFAIK it was nearly full. We were in one section which had dozens of ground and air vehicles and loads of players, and the gameplay was smooth(frame latency appeared fine to me),and we were running the game at highish settings at 1920X1080. Another mate who had a similar graphics card and a Athlon II X4 at around 3.2GHZ did have performance dips and had to run the game at lower settings.
TBH,I half expected I needed to run the game at lower settings after reading about it on some forums.
I played PS and did a bit of the PS2 beta, have now joined an informal outfit to play the full game. Have to say its delivering some great gaming moments, have found that there are more large battles than in PS1.
