Re: Whats everyone playing at the min?

Was playing BF3 'til recently now playing a browser game, Forge of Empires. Its actually not exciting in the least but its something to do at work and very addictive, a building can take a real day to build so its one of those games you set and leave for a bit. Play it right and you can get quite far quite quickly, play it wrong and you will progress very slowly.

Recently purchased the first Supreme Commander as im bored of FPS atm but not installed yet.

Been playing air mech for a couple of days now on lunch breaks. It's a chrome game and runs in browser (I think there may be a native client too).

It's pretty damn good fun for a free multiplayer game. 2 player co-op today was a blast. Would recommend for a timewaster that could be more!

Perhaps, but not the epic scale. I think the start of Shadows is horribly slow (far too much showing off the fancy new landscape packs ), and Hordes just drops you onto a railroad and waits for the wreck. I much prefer playing community content - there are a lot of much better modules out there than any of the "official" campaigns.

NWN2 killed a lot of the intuitive aspects of NWN control though - still don't know why Atari didn't a) let BioWare develop it, and b) try to replicate the original engine as closely as possible, given how well it works for a D&D based cRPG.

I'd love to see an NWN-style cRPG with 4e licensed: that's be a *lot* of fun

I think the scale of MotB is fairly epic! It's multi-planar as well

    I agree with that

NWN2 killed a lot of the intuitive aspects of NWN control though - still don't know why Atari didn't a) let BioWare develop it, and b) try to replicate the original engine as closely as possible, given how well it works for a D&D based cRPG.
Bioware were moving into bigger things (pandemic, precursor to EA join) but I disagree about the engine - behind the scenes it is the actually the same engine (updated), but it had a new graphical renderer, and NWN2 benefited so much from that. The scripting and toolset were much improved as well, but less accessible.

I'd love to see an NWN-style cRPG with 4e licensed: that's be a *lot* of fun
Neverwinter was heading that way.. but shifted as the license and various companies got yanked and pulled around.

Yeah, i've been playing NWN community mods from the vault ever since the game was released. Also had a long running NWN multiplayer game together with three other players (complete with evil Dungeon Master) which lasted about 4 years too.

Now that was how it was meant to be played Never got to try that on the small scale unfortunately, but did run a persistent world which involved plenty of building and DMing.

Ah, never got round to trying MotB - to be fair I didn't give NWN2 much of a go really - I got stuffed by the "installing MotB on top of a fresh install critically breaks the OC" NWN2 bug; at the time you couldn't automatically update NWN2 and then install MotB as that broke something else, and the pain I went through trying to download and manually patch in the appropriate order was massively disproportionate to my enjoyment of the game. So I gave up.

Re: Whats everyone playing at the min?

Yeah there were a few unfortunate patch problems early on (I was hit by the enforced system requirements check..). But yes, MotB was even more epic (in story terms at least) than HotU. If you are into your pantheon lore (or were a fan of previous FR games like Baldur's Gate) then there are some particularly cool moments... It's also much more like PS:T in a number of ways .

Just finished Max Payne 3 Campaign. It was one hell of a story and easily one of the best shooters I've ever played 9/10.

I finished Max Payne 3 recently. Not sure if I'd praise it as highly as the poster above me but it was definitely good fun. And the story was really good. I enjoyed the voice acting especially from Payne.

I'm still playing Starcraft 2 as always. I have also been playing Counter Strike Global Offensive, it's a pretty fun fast paced game just like its predecessor. However it's pretty similar. Since it will probably be around £15 ($15 in US :O) I think I will end up buying when it is released.

Re: Whats everyone playing at the min?

Starcraft 2: I am proper naff at the multiplayer, but I want to complete the campaign. Loving the game.

Diablo III: Also great fun, though I've slowly stopped playing. I got it on the day of release but have only just started act 2... for the first time!!

Sniper Elite V2: On the final level, and each time I go back I still get that brilliant feeling of anticipation as a shots goes all slow-mo and traces the bullet. Will it be a simple kill after all, or will it go all x-ray and show skull destruction in all its gruesome glory!

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition: lol. Such a game. Never really got into it on the PC and didn't realise what all the fuss was about. But my conversion to the Mine Side is complete.

    And of course...

Battlefield 3: After all my (and everyone elses) moaning about this games stability, and the fact that now you can't simply join and official server without hunting one down, I do love a good sesh on BF3. When it's going good and the players are on fire, this shooter is quite simply the best out there. Love it.
