I had something similar to your system before nov 2011, I had to upgrade due to constant crashing from BF3 and auto shutdowns. I had a Q9450, GTX 295 and 4gb ram lol. Before anyone asks I had an Enermax Galaxy 1000w PSU.

I have never played a game like this, it looks like it's one of those games that people would return to time after time, I've only played through the tutorial and I'm struggling a bit with the combat side of things, so I might leave it for a while and then return to it. I'm on a mission to clear a massive back log of games that I have yet to complete.

Out of the two I prefer Witcher 2, I love spamming the lightning protection spells and going on a rampage. The graphics are better too but both are great

I'm playing Splinter Cell: Double Agent - had it for years but never bothered with it, and forgot about it. It doesn't seem all that great at the moment, so I wasn't missing much. I loved the previous ones though, especially Chaos Theory.

Talk about overkill lol. You could've gotten away with half the wattage easily. Same story with your current sys, especially considering the GTX580 uses less power than the GTX295 (289W vs. 244W).
People still go apesh!t when I tell them that my sys only has a 430W PSU in it. I've seen some noobs say my sys would need at the very least a 650W PSU (just because some retarded website PSU calculators say so).. Quality, people.. not quantity (watts)

But yeah.. My sys as it is right now does what I want to do, and upgrading to an overclocked i5 or something would be wasted money, mainly because I'm now what most people would call a casual gamer due to not really having much time to waste on games anymore :/

I'll use it till something breaks.. which could take a long time, considering the base system has been running fine since ~2008 or so.
(apart from upgrading from 4GB DDR2 to 8GB DDR3 and replacing the absolute turd of a graphics card I had before (GTX260))

Yeah I thought I wouldnt be needing that much power not now or in the future. I thought I would future proof by getting a 1200 w supply, but then in reality I wont go SLI because I wont go multi monitor and CPU/GPUS will get more efficient. I've changed my PSU to a corsair ax 850w now for a more realistic supply so I can hit the 50% more easily.

I'm playing Batman Arkham city, Elder scrolls V: Skyrim and Driver San Francisco - Batman Is great, so is skyrim, but Driver SF is OK.

Right now, a combination of Skyrim, Football Manager 2012, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and RollerCoaster Tycoon. I really have to finish that game once and for all.
