I see on CVG that Eidos have got rid of a few of the programing team for Deus Ex Invisible war and the Thief Deadly Shadows. Shame really condemning the workers for their problems I wonder whos idea it was to XBox the game in the first place. Cut@ Paste Below.
ION STORM REELING FROM EIDOS DISMISSALS
Around two dozen employees sent packing, according to reports, although the publisher insists Warren Spector remains
15:21 Publisher Eidos has laid off several staff at its owned Austin, Texas-based development studio Ion Storm, according to US reports.
It's suggested that 20 to 25 employees have been dismissed, only days after the US release of the developer's stealth title Thief: Deadly Shadows; and only a matter of weeks since the resigning in April of Deus Ex: Invisible War project director Harvey Smith and Thief: Deadly Shadows lead designer Randy Smith.
Initial reports on the staff dismissals were also suggesting that Ion Storm figurehead and studio director Warren Spector had been fired.
Unfortunately Eidos's UK arm was unavailable for clarification on the matter at the time of writing, but according to US reports on the Ion Storm upheaval the publisher has stated that the affected staff consist of those employees hired specifically to work on Deus Ex: Invisible War and Thief: Deadly Shadows.
The reports suggest that, now both of those titles have been completed, certain parties were deemed surplus to requirements.
Eidos has also refuted the suggestion that Warren Spector has been laid off, according to reports from the States. However, rumours still persist about his involvement with the next Tomb Raider title, as such Spector's future surrounded by more than a little mystery
