Well i have heard reports (*ahem*) that the alpha ran on a system similar to my old one with good fps - athlonXP1700+, GF4ti4200, 512ram

and as that was unoptimised code the full thing should be fine =)

still gonna be a beat on my system tho

By the time this arrives, my specs will be an X800XT Platinum edition, 3500+ 939 socket Athlon64 and a gig of DDR400.

I have never ever ever not liked a id Software game - I have played and completed them all. From Commander Keen, to Quake 1 right up to Quake 3 and also games based on their engine....

I *love them.

I am an id fan boy - if you think thats wrong - deal with it.

It gives me a few weeks to get a decent PC.

FX53 939, 2GB ram - couple of raptors.

I have to say - it rocks on 6800Ultra - better than ATi. NVIDIA are the OpenGL daddies... has to be said. This is defacto.

I was speaking to some ATI 'high up' people and they admitted that Half Life 2 and Doom3 will be faster on NVIDIA core logic.

Carmack has 1 gaming engine left in him, the one thing you can be sure of is the perfectionist will have got it right - he is an artist. See going to these NVIDIA Editor Days are good for something Managed to have a good 30 mins + with Hollenshead talking about the games and the future.
