    Online fps Opinions

Im searchin for a new online fps to play and not sure what direction to head in. I used to play the ol' day of defeat, mint. untill bf1942 came out, then i was hooked on the DC mod. Although its good i cant be bothered with the constant walking across miles of landscape or tanks when your infantry etc.

so now i'm mainly playing call of duty online. i like the maps/quick gameplay etc. however its waring thin now as there are not enough maps etc.......

ive herd of americas army, downloaded it but never got passed the training, didnt think it was worth it...

also planetside, but im wary it may be a bit long winded, not quick action.

what about CS? are there too many cheats like i've read about? hows the action.

however i would prefer a good free game/mod, any opinions/suggestions?

Red Orchestra for UT2004 - WW2, realistic yet great fun. New version 3 is out today with TANKS

    You are in luck http://redorchestramod.gameservers.net/index.html

Get UT2004 from www.play.com for 17.99 (iirc). UT itself is fine and has loads of mods. Also try Deathball for immidiate fun.

But its the russian front. And it has some new ideas like not telling you how much u have in a clip and no crosshairs and freeaim in normal view. It still manages to be dynamic and doesn't turn into a sluggish game. I think its better than dod, but then again i ain't played dod for a while now.

Get CS:CZ, good fun too keep you going until HL2 comes out You can buy it from play.com for about £13. Ive been playing CS for almost 4 years and its very rare that Ive had a game spoiled by a cheat.

I am not a big fan of onslaught, prefer other things like assault or bombing run, but the beauty of UT that it has all of them in! So if you don't like one you can play another And a LOT of mods http://www.fileplanet.com/section.aspx?s=97782&v=90004
