Arrow NFSU demo - what do you think?

I know there's a similar post to this furthur down, but I don't think people have said much about what they thought of the demo there, only "yaay it's downloading" etc. So, what do you think of it?

    Here's what I think.

    Good points:

    Graphics
    Sound
General gameplay (I don't usually go for racing games, but I've now decided I like fun, not serious games like NFSU and burnout )

    Bad Points:

Why don't the cars get damaged? I hope they will in the full version.

Overall, I think it's a very good demo, and can't wait for the full version later this month.

I like it - in fact think its got the potential to be even more addictive than the original!

I'm a little sorry to see there is no car damage, but then with all of the various models, mods, vinyls etc - it would be very difficult (I imagine) to create crash damage animation/effects for the 1000's of potential set-ups on cars.

However, I wont let that stop me getting hte game after playing the demo - I like the fact that drifting now has other cars!!

Yeah - I think one of the attractions of getting a game like that is to smash you car up and how much you can damage it. I'll still buy the game though .

Also, does anyone know if the online bit will be improved at all? I haven't been able to enter a game at all, and think this is one of the best parts of the game (if it works well....)

I like it , but the demo gets boring quick due to the single car and track. I'm looking forward to the full game.

Not a fan of the steering, tis very artificial especially when going from normal handling to oversteer.

Saying that though the gameplay's great and I LOVE the sound. Definate improvement over the last NFS there. Love the neon, bright lights and the free roam mode. Shame it just doesn't handle better for me.

There is a circuit and drift race - plus you can challenge any of the 'other' modded cars for an outrun style challenge! Just ride by them and press tab (iirc) - Its true and a little sucky about only having the one car (and swapping the colour in the garage) - I'd like to see how one or two other specs handled

I just drove around until I found loads of info circles

I love this the demo is all i have been playing lately and i think i have spent a fair few hours with it.

Decent graphics and sound. Very nice arcade feel to it. I think its showing up my system a bit though im playing with it on 1280x1024 and i have had to turn the detail down a bit to get my framerate up. It would be nice to play it at 1600x1200 with full detail i bet

I thought the steering was crap, unlike NFSU which I thought was amazing.

I've just been playing the drift mode for ages! 280,000 is my best at the mo

as for damage, I think its because car manufactures generally dont want people seeing their cars getting smashed up and so charge a bomb for the right. (same for gt3)

So can they do what R* did in the GTA series and have cars that are identical in every, except the name, and so avoiding having to pay car manurfacturers loads of cash?

the cars in GTA were not modelled on real cars at all so they are fine.

Bah cant remember their name, but the people who made burnout3 wanted to use real cars but they just couldnt afford it

I think you'll find every car in GTA was modeled on a real car and they just made up a take the piss name!

Personally I like NFSU2 - should be an improvement over the first one.

Ahh right, sorry. I thought they didnt use 'proper' cars at all in the modelling to avoid copyright jobbies.

I played it, like it but I feel the game has got the 'fame' bug lol! It knows what its good at, delivering great graphics and customisations no other game can produce. However I think they've completely forgotten to programme steering in this version and its just trying to do what it does best 'better' and not bother with much else.
