I witnessed the backlash that Ubi got for differing release dates on Pacific Fighters, the US were SERIOUSLY miffed that Europe had the game two weeks before them... and then that actual release dates were slightly different state to state due to supply problems.
Vivendi are doing the right thing, as annoying as it may be for the impatient, by sticking to the 16th. Of course, if my copy sin't working on the 16th, I'll be donning my balaclava...
