Me too....Im not saying It will put me off completly, far from it, however it is the only downside I can see at the moment, andI am more likely to be sceptical about it until I have actually used it myself

Buy a spare, they don't cost much, and you are laughing.
So far, the impression I get is the the PSP is amazing just to look at; you have this fantasticaly well built device, massive widescreen display, and underneath that flash exterior, you know its got the power, pretty much, of a PS2, one of the current major home consoles.
With the DS, you get the impression that its going to have to rely on novelty factor; the screens are nothing special, but one of them is a touch screen. Also the first batch of games for the DS were disapointing; the only one even to get average scores was Super Mario 64 DS, and that is a rehash of Mario 64 from the N64.
The PSP has me excited about the potential that power and that screen has, with the might of Sony behind it, much more than the how Nintendo might impliment a touch screen on a handheld with inferior specs, an inferior screen and a dissapointing software launch.
I've looked at the options, and the PSP seems the better bet.
I just found this HERE for anyone that can't wait Would you say these are imports?
Personally I'll wait to see what the actual launch price is. One of these would be perfect for all those hours I sit around at work. Gotta get one
ooh, they've dropped the prices

I have already got £190 worth of credit notes saved up from work so I will have to resist and get it when it comes out over here on March 18th...
We are still being told £150, hopefully that will be the "value pack" with one game (ridge racer etc).

Got mine pre-ordered at GamePlay. \o/
I'm not daring enouth to pre order yet. I will probably wait for a month or so after it's out as the price might be reduced.
Going by public reaction/anticiaption and rumours that sony will try very hard to match or beat the DS price. I dont think the price will be dropping for a while, maybe not even at christmas.Originally Posted by LouG
But from what i heard Sony will be releasing it very cheap. And pre-ordering at £190 may be a big mistake
I'm sure I read somewhere that the intended retail price over here is going to be £180.00
Meanwhile there are rumours of the USA getting it for under $160.
If the retail price over here is over £160 then i'm importing, why should we keep getting shafted for no reason at all. At £170 we'll be paying TWICE what the americans pay.
About my pre-order at GamePlay:
The price shown is only an indication and ordering with us secures your place in the allocation queue for the hardware unit only.
The Pre Order price is subject to change and if it goes down we will only charge you the lower price.
So that's good.
they have them at the london computer markets for those that cant wait, but they are £350.
No, they have them at GBAX.com for those that can't wait.
£219.89 for a stand-alone PSP.
£239.89 for a PSP and game (Ridge Racers, Metal Gear Acid or Vampire Chronicles)
£249.89 for a Value pack.
Please don't give some dodgy market trader £350 for one, pay less and get a years guarantee with these people instead.
i dont recommend buyign one from there, but if you want to hold one in your hand and see what it looks like......
ill be buying one in tokyo next month
