    London LAN cafe suggestions

I am studying at Queen Mary over by Mile End for a semester and was wondering if anyone could suggest a good LAN/gaming cafe that preferrably has wifi. I used to play World of Warcraft back in the states before coming here in January and as I'm sure most people know WoW can be very addicting. The university provided internet connection just doesn't cut it since my copy of the game has to communicate with the servers back in california. Anyways, I would appreciate any suggestions.

I'd suggest looking round a few of these to see if you can install your own games, or if they already have WoW installed.

:edit: Although, I'd steer clear of the company which has this as their description:

it's a cyber workshop, where you can find not only internet you can make scanners, find all of office system, and of course, print and coffee.
    Great advertising!

Here's a list of some of the cyber cafes you might find.

/Going off topic here but what course are you doing at QMUL, as I went to their open day yesterday for CS. It was really great to say the least though the weather put me off a bit :/.

I have checked out that website, seems like information overload and a lot of the websites no longer work; but thanks for the link nonetheless. It has provided a couple of places I'll have to check out.

I'm just an associate's student so I am only taking one CS course and one electrical engineering course. The courses seem to be a bit underwhelming and the facilities are sub-par from what I'm used to. As I said I can't play WoW out here on a university internet connection which is very weird to me. Generally universities in the states have the fastest internet connections of all. But I do have to say that the professors I have talked to seem to know their stuff, but I am only taking practical courses and no theoretical. I'm taking Database Systems and Internet Protocols. One thing that I've noticed in my courses, though, is that a lot of the students do not respect the professors during lecture and talk the entire time. I would suggest finding a CS course you are interested in and attending a lecture if you can. Oh and the weather, yeah... well I'm from los angeles, so I definitely empathize with you, haha.

This I've noticed but I was looking for recommendations to LAN cafes that aren't particularly questionable looking. Most of them seem like somebody plugged a router into a BT connection and is now their own little internet cafe.

    Hey Adam,

Im studying at QM as well and have exactly the same problem as you. Well, actually im trying to find a nice gaming cafe for CS and WC. I used to go to a russian one close to baker street station but it got worse and worse. Nothing is working there anymore, so im trying to find a new one. Have you had any success looking for a cafe? just in case, here is my email address: alex_danelia@yahoo.com
    Talk to ya soon!

    Peace,

    Alex

What a wierd thread, its over 2 years old and most of the posters have joined and disappeared within a month!

Anyway, Im sure there must be plenty of gaming cafes in London! If there aren't any there, then we're all doomed!

    Re: London LAN cafe suggestions

Is is just me, or are there no/a distinct lack of proper, dedicated to gamers, gaming cafes in London? Is it just because so many people have broadband and play at home with their own kit?

I quite like the idea of going to a place where you can play with people in the same room but maybe that's cos I've been gaming since the year dot.

Whatever happened to The Killing Fields?

I used to live in QM Halls - and the internet connection gets worse after each of their "upgrades".
