Anyone play Splinter Cell Chaos THeory yet?

Well I bought the game and frankly it was an astonishingly good looking game even though it is based on the venerable Unreal Engine. Only gripe I have is that the game is quite short. Need more levels.

The graphics @ 1280 x 1024 on my laptop brought the GPU to my knees when there was a lot of smoke and particle effects. But the game was released for SM 1.1 or 3.0 and so us ATI users with 2.0b capability were hung out to dry which is what I really disliked. I am sure with the 2.0b support, if the game had it it would have probably run better @ the same res or even higher and looked a hell of a lot better. Been tempted to buy an Nvidia just so I can play the game on the dekstop in all its 3.0 glory. But I resisted since ATI is launching their R520 soon....all in all it was fun. A 9 out of 10.

I'm surprised it didnt get a very high score on IGN, looks good though.

I dont like to play 3rd person games on PC so i'll likely get it for PS2.

Is there PC co-op? Co-op is a killer feature

Yeah there is PC co-op and it is extremely fun. Gamespot gave it a horrible review but the community pretty much yelled at their editors and the community gave it a 9.6 I think. It is a superb game and frankly I think I need a good graphics card to play it.

Only gripe I had was that the game was just an evolution of the previous game series. I would like more levels, longer levels, more cutscene videos and if they address all these then despite having a winner they will have an uber winner. Also on a second note, more realism would be great, like the NPC characters panicking and becoming suspicious if a light is shot out or if one of their team members do not report in cause they met Sam's knife and so on. Also the pistol is remarkably underpowered in that if you shoot a guard in the head most of the times the guy is still walking around...errr...so there are gripes but they are kind of forgiven when playing the game though cause the graphics is just mindblowing. Methinks Splinter Cell 4 will be Unreal Engine 3.0 based. If they delay for a while to delver that game on that engine I for one will be glad to wait.

I'm hooked on it, it is a lot better than Pandora Tomorrow, the only recent game I have really been hooked on!

Yep beat the game and now about to beat it again. I wonder though what exactly one has to do to get a high enough rating haha. IT is so tempting to stab those guards with the knife...that everytime I say ok I am gonna get past all the guards on the levels without killing anyone but when that occasional stray comes by it is just so tempting to just click that one button and send that fella to his doom. Loved every moment of it and the soundtrack is pretty good. I wish though they had Crystal Method back doing the soundtrack along with Amon Tobin, the soundtrack on the first Splinter Cell was awesome as well.

The PC version is awesome, even with 1.1, it looks awesome on my Pc, but when I put it on 3.0 my frame rates dropped seriously, guess i need a more powerful processor to play this.

That online co-op sounds like a great feature

What are the minimum specs on the game?

I would recommend a really powerful shader model 3.0 capable card...the higher the res...the game looks truly astounding. I was gonna wait to build a computer because my current laptop should be able to serve me for the next 3 years and then build a phat desktop prob from voodoo pc but this game is breaking my will to just go out and spend on an Nvidia or the upcoming ATI R520....losing self control....argh....

Its definately a game that makes me happy i spent money on a decent graphics card

This truly is game thats capable of bringing the current technology to its knee,s although i think nvidia cards (6800gt/ultra) will have a slightly easier time with this game.
