I would assume that the new xbox would be backwards compatable, think of all the users they would **** off if they did not make it happen.

You have to remember that until the PS2 arrived no mainstream console was ever backward compatable. Only with the purchase of add-ons had a console had any backward compatability (and we know what happens with add-ons)

To make 360 play Xbox games the Hdd is going to be needed, (rumours persist that there will be 2 versions of 360, with/without hdd) another spanner in the works points to Nvidia asking for royalties as they own a fair amount of tech in the current console.

I don't see any need to make it backwards compatible - the games always play better on the original system anyway. And if you need to play Xbox 1titles, you will have a previous Xbox.

I concur, it is failry clear that MS wanna take over the whole entertainment market as well now by having something that can everyting and anything.

Whats that at the bottom of the controller? A docking port perhaps? Somewhere to plug the headset in? Apparently the Xbox logo is a special button as well. EDIT: Just noticed the numbers around the logo in the corners. Looks like it moves diagonally.
