Well Sonys effort is shaping up quite nicely as is the xbox 360. Hopefully the games for both will be good. Put me down for one
List of games for the ps3

Getaway 3 graphics look amazing, Saw a few screenshots and they look almost real.
You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?
The PS3 looks extremely tasty! I so want the black one considering that I've been playing alot more with my PS2 than my cube I think I'm deffo going for one o' these. Never been hot on xboxes my self and I think I'll get used to the controller once I have a play with it.
Ooh, it is slot load too, got to love that heh!
From the stuff Ive read from the people at E3 the PS3 has really blown away the Xbox 360 there with a better selection of games and better graphics in those games.
Thets get this straight, The PS3 is more powerfull than the xbox 360. I saw the the videos on the news and the graphics are not far off real.
PS: PS3 RULES!
Oh and whoever thinks the ps3 looks bad needs thier eyes checked.

I dont think any of the new consoles look as good as the Nintendo Revolution, its tiny, black and sleek. Although i must say the PS3 looks as though its going to be superior to the Xbox 360, wich again is the ugliest of the new consoles.
NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, GBA, DS, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3 60gb, XBOX, XBOX 360, Master System, Game Gear, Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, PC Engine, Neo Geo CD
The black one looks mint, will have to get one in 2007 when the prices are reasonable.

If I was to see all of the new consoles, without knowing who made which one, I would think the Nintendo Revolution was made by Sony. It just has a Sony 'look' to it. I like it more than the Xbox 360, but I think i still prefer the PS3 by a small margin.
hmmmm..interesting...
The new looks arent THAT bad, but not a pretty as the xbox360..and no where near the lovelyness of the revolution (looks wise). The controllers are as fugly as the original Xbox ones though..look like microsofts sidewinder pc gamepads..
Still all the consoles are getting better, and whilst i'm still firmly sticking with my pc, or a ninty console at a push..I would have to say the PS3 will easily come out on top. Sony may have messed things up imho with the PSP (separate arguement there ) but their PS3 looks really good (as far as consoles go)
I still think that a console should just be that tho - a games console, not messing about playing dvds, mp3s etc etc, we have PCs and dvd players for that...this is where nintendo come out on top, they focus entirely on the games, nothing else. This is why they tend to have the best machines for games, they dont mess about trying to be an all in one machine..
How have Sony messed things up with the PSP?

Starting with the shear number of faulty handsets..how many thousands had dead pixels?
Theres a poor selection of games, the majority of which would be hard to play 'on the move' as such, and those that are actaully fun to play will surely be overrun by the millions of Fifa games soon to hit the console in force..
The controls dont quite fit properly with my hands either, after playing with one for a bit (ridge racers) I got sore thumbs.. maybe that would change after i got used to it...but heh
But my biggest critisism is the battery life - average of 3-4hrs...pretty poor especially when you cant use 'normal' batteries with it..which is kind of important if your out and about and need more batteries, its not as simple to go and get a new psp power pack as it is to go and buy a £3 pack of AA's
Maybe its just because i naturally have an aversion to sonys products, but I didnt like the one i used ( a mates japaneese one)..But we're all entitled to our opinions right? ;p
TBH, Nintendo have had just as many quality problems with the DS from talking to peeps in the shops, it's just one of the problems with using tft's..
The battery life isn't actually a problem in real use, most of the time averaging 8+ hours before needing a charge, and the reason you can't just go an buy a pack of AA's is because that would actually end up with worse performance than the lithium polymer cell, and it would make the console bigger.
The selection of games is no worse than the DS (most of which appear to be gimmick titles to attempt to make use of the touch screen), and to be honest you can't play sony for what games the publishers punt out for the system, without going back to the draconian days of early Nintendo & Sega not letting anyone other than themselves publish titles for their system..
As for hard to play on the move, it's no different than any other handheld console out there really.. or maybe it's that the games are just involving enough to distract you from what you were doing at the time, (ie, walking down the street?) and surely that's a good thing?
The PSP does have quite a few quirky titles out there, admittedly they're mostly Japanese, (with the exception of Mercury, and a few other games), but again you're hitting on the willingness of the publishers to take a risk with innovative games.
