Just had a quick skirmish. The unit tree is a bit plainer than I expected, In thought there'd be more variation between the factions, but the differences are big enough to make for fun play.

The full game is much speedier than the demo for me.

Horde AI is ace fun if you like big open battles.

From what I have seen the differences are subtle between the races - similar basic units but with different abilities (eg laser for cybran, air burst artillary for UEF, aeon tanks coming with shields, UEF frigates have radar disruption which shows up as 20 or so ship icons on your radar etc etc) - will be interesting to see how they play out in the game....

OK I'm not eating my earlier words - I did some tests with the demo - even with probably 200 units onscreen fighting, CPU usage was basically 50% of a dual core system - it wasn't even load balanced across cores. One core had 90% use and the other 10%. Yet the game remained full speed.

Tech is quite easy unless you're turtling then it makes for some fun battles. With the experimental units going up against each other.
