Stupid download festival. They should stop it, so we can have more loud racing at Donington (You're not even allowed standard road ferrari's on track days)

The same lineup, near as damnit, is going to Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, so I'll go there again, instead.

At least at Graspop we get Ozzy and Aerosmith as headliners. I actually quite like MCR and I was a fan of Linkin Park years back, but I really like the slightly more metal feel of Graspop.

Actually, the Graspop Metal Meeting lineup is significantly better IMHO.

I'm not a huge fan of Ozzy so if it wasn't for Hammerfall I might have skipped the Sunday.

I am envious that you get Dragonforce this year and we don't though. They were stars last year at GMM and pretty damned good in 2005.

Exactly, and how they are now a 'poster band' for reprise/warner, pushed in everyones face (especially into the press where you effectivly get told 'like them, or else') regardless of their actual talent.

Just like Trivium (in terms of being a poster band), who are RoadRunners version..pretty poor band, shoved out there as 'the next big thing' and everyone in the media gets told to like them and promote them..just goes to show what a clever marketing department can do.

Just to prove how bad trivium really are, remember their set from last year? or even better when Matt tried to fill in for Korn..that was truely painful, although I did laugh *alot* when the sound guys actually switched off his Microphone because he was so, so bad lol. They should have got corey to do the whole set lol

and Brucelles your right Cheaper too, just a pain to get to when we're not living in mainland europe ;/ Lots of ace festivals in mainland europe - and you could probably go to 3 for the price of one download ticket..would love to go to Waken, Rock-am-ring/park, and Eurockeennes again ;/

Two of my favourite bands, Porcupine Tree & Anathema are playing at Download but I'm going to be abroad that weekend so I can't go

I went to Download in 2004, had a great time despite the god awful organisation of the event.

I went to Wacken in 2005 and it was the dog's bollocks, but it is a huuuuge festival and you miss an awful lot.

Now Trivium I did actually have some time for to begin with, Acendancy was a tad too over hyped though and there the trouble began......its not that its a bad album, not at all, moreso that every media outlet that did a feature on them likened them to the next Metallica, then of course the marketing hype crept into the studio and started to interfere with the music leading to the thrash by numbers album that was The Crusade. Doesn't help that they've been toured waaaay too hard by Roadrunner leading to alot of shoddy live performances after Acendansy broke properly.

Tis a shame really, alot of quite promising talent gets wasted these days even when it is picked up by a record company.

Bloodstock's line-up looks cracking, testament, sabbat, dark traquility, inflames and arch enemy.....if I've got the cash spare and get a ticket after download I'll prolly try and make it down.

Yes, there are some good bands there, but what the hell are a girly band like Epica doing among those names?

Oh well, at least the lead singer is cute.

hehe bloodstock does have some decent bands this year (shock horror!)..but I won't be going, the people that run it are right <insert expletive>'s, very very two faced..

In Flames, lacuna Coil..and Epica all sound good tho - Epica were pretty good when I saw them at thirteenth day... just a shame that festival only had one outing

Almost time for Download though..just a couple of days..
