I remember getting that exicted when I thought I was getting a gameboy. When I opened it and it was a sega master system I calmed down a bit

I can certainly remember the Christmas Eve that my brother got his Megadrive. The deal was that us kids were allowed to open one present, and only one present, when we woke up at 5am on Christmas morning. This particular year though, my younger brother had a good feeling (and he's always been impatient) so he couldn't resist peeling off the paper on the corner of his present before he went to sleep- and when we saw the telltale thin white chequer on the glossy black box we knew.
When my parents and our relatives roused themselves at about 9am the next day we were already some way into the Labyrinth Zone. By the time we were dragged off home from my Grandad's a couple of days later, I was into the Starlight Zone. At our traditional stopoff at my Auntie Anne's I got on to the Scrap Brain Zone on my cousin Andrew's Megadrive- spoilt kid that he was he'd had his since Altered Beast was the pack in, and he had the Mega Base (?) converter for Master System games. Back home, I finally completed it on New Years Eve 2001 (edit:1991- d'oh!). Good times, good times. I still think the Starlight Zone is about the best level created for any game ever.
