I remember walking through Heathrow last year and looking out of a walkway window and seeing a small pile of luggage on a traffic roundabout. They had obviously fallen off one of those little luggage trucks to or from the plane. And then further in I saw piles of what seemed to be abandoned luggage all over the place. I was relieved when we got the the baggage carousel and our bags turned up.
In the future you may want to consider sending your important stuff back with a worldwide courier. There's still the possibility of stuff going walkabout but I'd imagine it's less likely.
Hope you get it back soon.

Just a counter anecdote - when BA lost my bags they were great. They took the details and I went home, thinking that was that.. but late that evening we got a knock on the door and a guy with an estate dropped my bags off to my astonishment.
It's worth pointing out the house was in Derbyshire and I'd flown into Heathrow...
Hey chill out it's early days yet. I had to wait over thirty days for my bag to appear and BA were brilliant sending my wife flowers and a flight voucher - yes the call centre is annoying especially when you have to listen to that awful music and something should be done to reduce waiting times there's no excuse for that.
Truth of the matter is BA probably have no idea where your bag is - the tag could have come off and it could still be in Taiwan sitting in an office.
I would wait longer till I got worried you have still plenty of time to wait for it to turn up.![]()
Could it be possible that your bag was stolen?
Anyhow good luck with finding it.
He'll steal your pink ones Steven before his hair starts to get a life of it's own.
You'd think in this day and age they'd implement some half-decent tracking system with the use of RFID tags to identify who the bag belongs to, where it's going and things like that.
However, it seems they'd rather give out handouts to staff leaving with a nice bunch of zero's in there as opposed to improve their airline and luggage safety.
Nick, it doesn't look good for your luggage I'm afraid. I'd be suprised if you get to see it ever again.
To be fair, most airlines actually depend upon the airport authorities for baggage. If your stuff goes missing in Taiwan it's possibly because of Taiwanese airport ineptitude, though the lack of tracking is definitely down to BA.
As far as the flights go, long haul, I like BA. They have never lost anything of mine, and I fly a lot too. The food is good, the cabins comfy and first class is first class; up there with Cathay and Singapore.
When you consider the volumes of traffic it's surprising that more baggage doesn't go astray. I have a pocket on the front of all of my bags in which I keep a sheet of paper with my name and addresses and the phone numbers I can be reached on. Whenever I have lost a bag (twice) it was returned to me a few hours later.

So take them to the cleaners in my opinion. At the end of the day you are just a statistic to them but a claim worth hmm say £1,000,000 for all that irreplaceable data you lost will be more highlighted statistic![]()

i thought the new EU regulation can be enforced here? Also can you just claim money for it?
Some airlines also offer compensation on how long its lost for.
My parents grandparents from America used American Airlines and because one of the baggages was missing they gave us a sheet of paper mentioning that the 1st day you can get $100 to replace the everyday stuff i.e. toothpaste, underwear etc and this increasing each day its missing. This is then claimed back by sending reciepts to the head office of the airline.
Thankfully there was nothing everyday use and so they used the money as travel money and their luggage came through a courier 2 days later....
Woohoo now Assistant Manager!
Can you claim for loss of earnings as it was all stuff in the bag related to your work?
