Well in talking to BA, they themselves say that the responsibility for delivering the bags rest with the final carrier, in this case, them.
Mine has around 1000 of my business cards in one of the outer, unlocked zip pockets, do you think that'd be good enough?
Whether they have an idea or not, the time delay is crucial. Already the vast majority of the data in that bag, be it in paper or digital form, is less valuable than if I had the bag when I landed.
BA have admitted that they don't know where it is but messages have been sent to try and find it... The subject of the tag missing was raised on day one... and the urgency of finding the bag due to the data was made clear once it became apparent the bag wasn't just going to clear through the system.
The cynical journo in me rather suspects that the contents have been flogged in a street market down Southall way...
Oh and Zak, I hate you.
Next time, stick some dirty tissues in it and tell the checkin girl you're shipping live viruses You can be sure they'll pay the bag very close attention!
I just remembered it was BA who lost my parent's luggage when we met up in Mauritius for a holiday. My Dad went for the whole 2 weeks wearing a few locally bought "designer" shirts, some cheap sandals and a pair of shorts that looked as though he had sicked on them. No problem.
They did get a decent bung though.
(Thanks Evilmunky)
Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet intakes.
My gran lost her bags on the way to Nice a year ago, turned up two months later (no notice) outside her house with a polite note saying that it had been found in Turin.
So.. if you're lucky it's still in Heathrow if you're unlucky it could be anywhere in the world.. and maybe the right2reply will help a bit (optimists view )

They always lose it during the holiday period too.
However, what they have been good at is stumping up a cheque to cover all my necessary purchases due to not having the bag - and when I say lost - it's almost always lost coming in towards Heathrow, not out from heathrow - although having said this the trend I'm sure will be reversed.
The most recent downside? No luggage last christmas and New year in Vienna.
The most recent upshot? New armani suit, zegna shirts, tuxedo and some other stuff all paid for with a BA cheque.
In the end I have always got my bags back so far - keep the faith Nick.
KLM and Schiphol used to be the worlds worst. My dad has a nice collection of Gant shirts payed for by lost/delayed luggage vouchers
I'm also a frequent traveller, doing something like 30 trips a year and I'll only use BA when there is no other sensible option. I find most of the cabin crew rude, the food foul and it's a bit annoying to find that I managed to board the plane but my luggage didn't.
When I flew back from Seattle last year it took my suitcase a week to finally get to me which I wasn't best pleased about. They phoned me when it arrived and told me that I could pick it up at my leisure. Hell, even EasyJet deliver stuff when they've messed up but BA were insistant that I'd have to drove a 150 mile round trip to Heathrow to get it back. After a bit more discussion they eventually agreed to bring it back to me.
