If Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, motor car manufacturers with lead times in single figure minutes (and any other large company that ships goods) can get it right then why can't an airline?
Imho there should be a straight fine of £5000 on a lost bag paid for by the airline within 2 weeks of the bag being lost. It's about time that the rights of the consumer to have their property looked after properly by the airline because you are not allowed to take a suitcase above a certain weight into the cabin. That would sort them out - £5000 x 10,000 bags lost = £50 million.
Thank fully I travel light and anything of any value to me stays on the person or if this is not possible goes by recorded courier where I'll have insurance.
I hope you get you bags back. Once shafted twice shy. They don't call them Bloody Awful for nothing

aye, but the wording states that the timer is going until they can tell you where the bag is, they can do that now
although i think it should be changed to
*time elapsed till BA sort this issue out*
but then the timer wouldnt stop until every last bag from every customer ever had been found...
Change the wording then. Drop the bit about BA not being able to tell you wehere it is, they've done that now
EDIT: beaten to it by big D
Any updates yet? It's been 2 days since the bag was found...
Bag Found..
Just goes to show that you either need to be Rich, Popular or know someone in the industry to get the job done, for the average joe they would not of got there bag back.., why?, because most people these days are just don't give a DA*N..,
I gotta ask, would Richard have paid any attention if this wasn't getting BA bad press? I mean if it was Joe Bloggs whose luggage they had lost, would they actually do anything about it?
I dont doubt they would make an effort, I dont know if the situation would be resolved as quickly/if at all though.
The publicity sped this case along (Ooh, bad pun, I do apologise!) for sure, still good news though

They don't call it 'Thiefrow' for nothing!
Years ago, it was so bad that the Italian clothing company I worked for was constantly having items stolen.
One year, weeks before Valentines Day, our order arrived with all the boxes opened and re-sealed by customs, even though there were delivery notes taped to the exteriors.
Strangely, after we checked the underwear in, various items were missing and we realised they were all matching sets of bras, panties, suspenders, etc....many thousands of pounds worth.
Obviously the men at 'Thiefrow' decided to treat their wives and girlfriends to our (very expensive) underwear for Valentines Day and when we queried the missing items, we were told to "prove it!"
Thiefrow, like all airports, hold regular sales of peoples 'lost' luggage every few months and the staff have first divs!
My advice? Use crap bags, (never expensive luggage) and paint, or write in felt tip pen your name all over the bags. Make as much mess as you can, with cartoons and other rubbish. You'll never have anything slolen again!
I know its BA's responsibility to find the baggage, but isn't it the airports responsibility if a bag gets lost, BA cannot employ their own baggage handlers at every airport they fly to.
Also it sounds like BA are bending over backwards to help you out now, but I am certain that this has everything to do with your story being on the internet and being digged over 500 times. This wouldn't happen for joe bloggs.
