Sadly no, as Apple have a fairly rigorous activation policy. From what i understand the only number you can dial without activating is 911
(literally everything is locked, ipod functions, internet, etc. - unless you want to wait for a firmware hack)
so we should expect stories about stupid amounts of stupid people calling 911 just to say they have an iphone then?

Sheesh, this phone will be half the price within a few months and not subjected to crap restrictions. However this is exactly what Apple.corp rely upon to boost the hype.
Yep, it looks like a good phone, has all the sh*t a modern top of the line phone has, but is expensive and is limited to certain service providers.

Is it just me or does anyone else think he`s being a bit too optimistic about calling all his friends...Heres betting at least 90% of the people he knows has a restraining order against here.
Readin up on it I still cant seem to understand why all the apple ppl are getting so ott on it. Sure the interface looks nice and all but the fact that the camera is crap and a complete lack of 3g seem stupid. Surely today releasing a new phone should mean its 3g as standard and I thought wed move on from crappy cameras in phones
