Cannabis Now Worse Than The Nazis

You know I'm not a fan of the stuff, but this article had me in stitches -

CANNABIS NOW WORSE THAN THE NAZIS

CANNABIS is now more evil than the Nazis and smoking the drug is worse for the brain than watching Richard Madeley on television, new research suggests.

Worse even than Richard and Judy

During the Sixties smoking dope was hardly evil at all, and the drug was more playful and slightly naughty, but in a nice way, a bit like Kenneth Williams.

In the Seventies and Eighties marijuana briefly became totally harmless and could be smoked by future Cabinet ministers up to the rank of Home Secretary without any effect on their brains whatsoever.

However, a massive increase in the strength of the drug since politicians all stopped using it has now made it more nasty and brutish than the combined evil of the Third Reich.

Professor Tom Booker, head of drug research at Glasgow’s Clyde University and the man who conducted the latest lengthy study into the drug, said: “Yeah, whatever.”

A spokesman for the University said: “The Nazi’s were very bad people but even they could not make a middle class white boy adopt dreadlocks for a hairstyle, or make a highly intelligent middle aged man crawl around the floor of his laboratory in his underpants weeping with laughter about nothing at all, and then eat his own weight in marshmallows.”

Following the promotion of cannabis to the top spot in the evilness rankings the top ten most evil things in the world are:

    1. (-) Cannabis
    2. (2) Tobacco
    3. (4) Debt consolidation ads featuring Carol Vorderman
    = 5. (1) Richard and Judy
    = 5. (3) The Nazis
    6. (-) Heathrow Airport
    7. (5) Prince Phillip
    8. (7) Joseph Stalin
    9. (-) Noel Edmonds
    10. (10) The Devil and all his minions

    (Previous position in brackets)

After 30 years smoking it I can safely say it has had a massive calming effect on my turbulent life.
Then again maybe I would not have had such a turbulent exciting eventful life.

30 years?!? So - the big question is - do you still get the munchies and how good is your short term memory (can you even remember posting this?)

Weed does seem to be the thing the media love to hate at the moment.

I saw a 'ZOMG 6 years olds now hucked on canebees!!!!' headline in the Sun yesterday.

I always find it strange that pissed up nob heads, running around the streets, stabing each other and the like, or the many, many thousands of people who will die this year from smoking, get no attention at all (of the 'should this be illegal' type), but 'teh govanmant' are wondering if weed is illegal enough.

Noone has ever died from a cannabis overdose, and there are no gangs of stoned loons roaming the streets, ramraiding shops for the Malteasers.

So, in short, why are ciggies and booze legal, and weed illegal? Nothing to do with the fact that ciggies and booze are taxed... nah, couldn't be.

Also: 30 years?!! I consider myself a connoisseur of the naughty weed - but you are like the Sun Tzu of smoking the jizzle!
Do you use a Vaporiser? Genius little things they are.

You're right. They should make excessive consumption of alcohol and ciggies illegal too.

Anyone who suggests beer should be illegal should be stoned.

If anyone on these here fine forums, can logically justify the status of the 4 drugs below, in terms of which are legal and which are not, I will buy them a king sized mars bar.

Deaths per year directly caused by alcohol in the UK in 2005 - 28,000+. Status - Legal.
Deaths per year directly caused by smoking in the UK in 2005 - 100,000+. Status - Legal.
Death per year directly caused by cannabis in the UK in 2005 - 0. Status - Illegal, Class C controlled drug.
Deaths per year directly caused by ecstasy in the UK in 2005 - 17. Status - Illegal, Class A controlled drug.

Would you like to put the percentage of users/amount of use next to those as well?
    That'd explain ecstasy.

    Cannabis?
Obesity causes 30 000 deaths a year in the UK.
I blame 9/10 of those on munchies. That's a scientfic fact

Not to be argumentative for the sake of it but I would imagine that anyone smoking weed would also be subject to many of the same nasties (lung cancer, etc) that anyone smoking tobacco would get (regardless of whether they mix it with tobacco or not). As for general justification we're talking about politics and not a lot else IMO. I would say that the risks of taking ecstasy are high relatively to the rest (booze, fags and gear that is) but that's from an admittedly naive perspective.
