Re: So who else has sleeping issues?

I probably have the worst sleeping habits you'll ever come across.

Hence the posts from me at like 4am... then 6am... then 9am... then 1pm.. etc. It makes things really hard sometimes. Like if someone asks me to go out for a big night out, and I happen to have been awake for over 30 hours already. Not good. I get by though

The worst thing that happens is sometimes if im REALLY tired, I see things shoot out the edges of my vision. As though someone sitting to my side, dropped a black ball or something. Best thing that happens is that I sometimes wake up in a bit of a daze, only to remember that I'd done about a weeks worth of work in the day/night before.

Re: So who else has sleeping issues?

Mine has gone completely haywire since my wife moved to Leeds. My sleeping habits are now the same as they were before I got married. Bad!
I go to bed and just cannot sleep and then have to get up at 7am to go to work. Alcohol, even small amounts make it even worse.
Not around too often!

It takes me ages to get to sleep sometimes, and I usually wake up about 8am regardless of what time I go to sleep, but I wouldn't say I've got insomnia, just a really light sleeper

Wow ! Glad I'm not the only one. I can empathise fully with you guys.

I take Trazadone for my sleep disorder, which is part of my ME/FMS. Of course, being out to look at meteors, I forgot to take it last night and got no sleep whatsoever
Cheers, David

Same here, my worst one is if there are (irrational) things to worry about and they just go round and round. I've never had any trouble sleeping except the odd times but I am a light sleeper (upstairs were walking around at 4am this morning, which work me up) which doesn't help when getting unbroken sleep is the order of the day.

Re: So who else has sleeping issues?

I only sleep for 4-5 hours a day and it's been like this for last 5-6 years. Actually I'm so accustomed to this style now sleeping any longer will just make me sick and dizzy all day long. Great thing is I'm still as fat as I used to be when I used to sleep much longer Better fuel comsumption may I say?

Re: So who else has sleeping issues?

I have trouble getting to sleep, and i tend to sleep late once i do finally go over. I am also the worst fidget out there and turn over at least 10 times trying to get comfortable before I fall asleep, which drives anyone sharing my bed completely insane.

I think the 7 years i spent playing EQ on an American server with West Coast Americans didnt help tbh, but i rarely find myself in bed before 1am, and rarely out of it any sooner than 10 mins before my bus is due (i shower and dress incredibly quickly when then need arises).

I'm bad for doing that. As long as my mind is active during the day, I'm fine, but once I go to bed and I have time to think, then sleep goes out of the window. I'm quite a light sleeper too and owning a cat who cries either at the bottom of the stairs or outside my bedroom window in the middle of the night doesn't help.

Cheers,
Stephen

Re: So who else has sleeping issues?

3 year old + 2 year old + 9 day old baby = no sleep for M0nkeyb0Y

I used to have 'insomnia', having kids has been the ultimate cure - now I sleep like a log when I get the chance.

When I did get it I found the fastest way to a natural night's sleep was to do something strenuous that day...

Also if I lay in bed for over an hour without sleep I'd get up and do something (not watch TV), sounds wierd but jig-saws really helped me.

Re: So who else has sleeping issues?

I've been an insomniac for a long, long time. It started in my teens and has never gone away properly. It's periodic, I can have a few weeks of great sleep/routine and then boom it's back and for no reason I can identify.

I've done all the cutting out caffeine/only use your bed for sleeping/don't watch films or play computer games/etc. rigmaroles but I find once I'm in it then nothing really helps. It usually goes away after a couple of weeks but I know it's coming back again at some point.

Progressive relaxation techniques can sometimes help (imagine the muscles in your body relaxing from the feet up to your head) but they're not always 100% effective when the insomnia's bad. I think it's just something your'e either prone to or you're not...
