I just got an ice cream from the ice cream man and I was wondering how many people still buy from him. Do you even still have one coming around?
So do you lot still support your local ice cream man or just go to the supermarket or wherever to buy them?
the only time i ever really see ice cream men/trucks etc is at festivals/out door events, then usally I dont bother wat with the mark up they put on everything.
I had a 99 (which ironically cost £1). I reckon a flake (it was a full one broken in half with both bits in) the ice cream, cornet, the decorative bits and the chocolate sauce comes close to a quid so on that they don't make THAT much mark up I guess...unless I'm just wrong.
Id say for everything it probabily costs them 30p/40p, so whist I dont mind paying £1 maybe a little more, its when they try charging upwards of £2 for magnum, thats where I draw the line.
Just the one - Rossi's Ice cream who is a local firm. Makes a racket with his "tone" Don't see a lot of kids buying from him, due to the lack of kids living down my road.

Normal get ripped off by the Ice Cream van in the park, there was a restaurant in the park that sold Ice Cream which was cheaper, it did cones and stuff, but there was a fire and now it sell nothing - very suspicious.

Back home the ice cream mans biggest seller is duty free tobacco.
Don't bother going to Monaco then, it was around £2.50 for a Magnum there, total rip off when I'd just been living in Germany paying 90p!

I saw our local ice cream man stocking up with loads of lollies, cans of pop n stuff at FARMFOODS. Obviously cheaper than the cash n carry.
Farm foods is the cheapest of the cheap like 20p for a can of coke isnt it.
I buy from our local ice cream man all the time.
Boxed ice cream just can't beat a whippy.
