It's very funny that he got caught but like a lot of others i am very concerned about the ruling. It's not as if he was doing anything perverted in public. The door was locked and he did not open it. They effectively broke in.

That he could be prosecuted in the first place is wrong but that he should end up branded in the same way as a paedophile for effectively cracking one off with an inanimate object is distinctly disturbing.

Is it to be a crime to be weird on your own in private now? They couldn't say that anyone else was harmed by the act (although I bet it chafed terribly)

It's bad news for privacy in the UK because of how a ruling like this could be used to support future similar cases... where the person(s) in question isn't a complete weirdo.

I am more disturbed by the ruling than the act. And it's not like I find 'having sex with a bicycle' a normal behaviour.

And yeah this is a stupid story. Imo its only going to turn the "sexual offenders register" into a joke. It should be a really serious thing, but if people think its half full bike humpers and stuff.. its hardly going to be respected anymore.
