Klaus, I'm not sure why you're complaining. If you don't like it, then just go away; don't raise a fuss for no good reason.

That said, I didn't see the thread you linked, but the last person I can remember getting banned (and only one of a handful in the 3 years I've been posting here, other than blatent spammers) was consistently over the course of a few weeks/months being abusive and aggressively argumentative, and I imagine was warned by mods via PM before being banned.

Re: Forum Rules & Freedom of Expression

The person broke rules its simple as that.

The person was warned a number of times by saracen in the end the person was banned for trying to tell an admin who like everyone else, is just a member of the forums like everyone else what to to.

You dont seem to understand that freedom of speach IS allowed on these forums, but not when that freedom of speach is ill mannered or innapropriate to what ever subject is being discussed as in the other thread.

Saracen was not insulting to other people, saracen posted his views and from what I can gather in a non biased way. Saracen explained numerous times that the other person had taken the post in the wrong way and wouldnt let it lie.

If this is a freedom of expression that is not allowed just because it isn't, then will Hexus just say so. In future, I will then try to agree with everything the mods say. This appears to be what you prefer?
Its not a matter of what HEXUS do or dont prefer, they dont say anywhere in the rules "You must agree with everything we say"

The fact is and this point keeps being returned to (going in circles) rules are in place to keep the forum members happy and prevent flaming situations.

In a earlier post I said I was going to keep my view to myself but now I will put my view across.

In my opinion (not HEXUS's opinion) I feel Saracen was correct in suspending the person from the other topic, why? Because that person was repeatedly warned and asked that if he/she had a problem with Saracen then the person should submit a report to one of the other admins or mods, to which the other person ignored and began in my eyes more willing to argue then drop a subject which he/ she said should be dropped.

This reply has gone on abit long now which I didnt intend, if I have over stepped any boundries while posting this, then I appologise to the admins/ mods and other forum members.

what are you going on about. I will not allow personnel vindication or finger pointing in any thread. Your main discussion topic is still relevant without the people involved being mentioned.
there is the reply to your quesion, first page 5th post.

For the other members......who don't often agree with me at all..... that sounds a tad silly.

But for my sake.... look back, (not in anger) at how many people have disagreed with your own views, non Mods, normal members, and decide....
Do I wanna be here? If so....then by all means keep joining in. I love that...
But don't start a thread that is fueling a non existent arguement. We dont have a rule about that...

but I tell you another rule we don't have.

    Always breathe.

And if you need telling rules like that, then best avoid creating weird threads.
However...I do salute you for upping our average post count, for which our advertisers will be very pleased
I AM trying to be nice. I am also surprised but delighted that this thread is attracting so much traffic, especially as several returning contributors have said we don't need it. At the moment, the defensive response is quite an exposé.

Let me try one question at a time. Why would the comment of a moderator be deleted from this thread but still exist on the forum but in a different place?

Re: Forum Rules & Freedom of Expression

Cant be bothered with reading so many pages, but when I've admined/moderated a forum before and users have claimed that the staff have stopped there freedom of expression, I've pointed out they had the freedom to read the t+c's before clicking join.
In the internets, no one can hear you sarcasm.

I am not complaining, I am discussing. If the subject matter is not to your taste, you can always 'go away and not raise a fuss for no good reason'

The thread which I am not permitted to link to is still on the forum.

You'd have to be deliberately picking an arguement to post that! Think about it for a bit, it was deleted because they thought a thread on freedom of expression would be informative but citing specific, recent examples wouldn't be constructive to the development of the thread.

As I posted before, I'm pretty damn sure you're a banned member with a new alt to try and gain support for yourself and I think that's just pointless and a good way to earn a permanent ban.

Since my OP, I have not mentioned the mod concerned because his name was considered personalisation. You have.

Thank you. It can help this discussion. Would you also care to repeat the phrase he used in relation to Government Ministers as I cannot? Thanks. Or does your freedom of expression not extend that far?

It might be worth telling a little story here, i used to post extenisvly on another site, that became increasingly commercial.

I had posted great deal of information, plenty of PIC ASM code (the value of which if going by my proffesional rate would of been a lot, £150 for the first hour lot) now i got rather upset by some corruption that was going on, as the site changed its direction, the forums became littered with adds that where constantly on the screen often using flash (which killed the slow CPU my tablet had at the time) at the same time the reviews where going down hill. People like me saw our work been used for others profit. I'd often before pointed out wholes in reviews, but under the new regiem it was deemed often blasphemus, this came to a head. I know a lot about the polictical goings on because i'm somewhat of an aquired taste, some despised my arogant presence, others thought i was a very useful member. The upshot of which was my been banned on ludicrus pretences, if they'd had the guts to say this is about the whole ATi email malarki i would of had some respect. Instead i can't help but feal they've taken a mass of information effort and a community and turned it into a commercial. That made me very mad, so i walked away.

Hexus on the other hand puts up with all my crap, be it telling bob i'm disapointed in him or expressing my desire to round up short people (well they're not really people). Fact is i tow the company line, i accept their rules and desires to keep on topic. I think i had more lines deleted in the thread than anyone else? But fair play we had been going off topic into irrelivant murkey waters, which as stated would of been ok in another thread.

As for why your link vanished, ever thought they might of had a reason for this? Considered PM'ing politely? Its not as if you're owed an explanation, so don't go demanding one.
