No this is incorrect. Evolution has speeded up in the last 5,000 years. That is to say the rate of change has increased.

No completely wrong. You don't understand evolution if you think that is what it is. "Survival of the fittest" has nothing to do with physical qualities we associate with fittest. Fittest is those most adapted to their environment. If the environment changes then those best suited will be at an advantage and those traits will be more likely to be passed on.
