    Re: Replacement for Egg card

Yeah, egg is still 1% for me, must've got confused on that one.

Definitely limited to £200 total cashback per year though.

Which defeats the benefit for me, as I put lots of spending through it

Its hard to find out cashback limits, no point giving 5% cashback if they limit it to £200 is there? (£4000 spend)

    Re: Replacement for Egg card

Egg was very competitive when it was launched.

But now at 21.9% it no longer offers much unless you are a new customer. There are better offers for those who need a backup. As it's a private company what can fair trade honestly do.. don't most card companies have clauses in T&C's that say they can terminate at anytime?

Egg do have one of the best websites IMO, and it automates / integrates well with my other online banking at natwest.

Can recommend the Amex Platinum moneyback, much more widely accepted than a few years ago when I had a corporate Amex. 5% cashback for 3 months upto £200 and then a cashback scale upto 1%

Egg seem to be cancelling people fairly arbitarily. The only hint seems to be if they specifically lowered your credit limit since the time Citigroup took over (regardless of whether you paid off the full amount or whatever).

They've actually cut my interest rate to 10.9 so it's as good as I can find anywhere else, which is a shame as until I hear more evidence from them to backup why they've culled people I think they're being a bit unfair.
