    Isnt this stealing?

I go to Tescos most times during the week to get my lunch. On thing which I think is wrong on a few levels is when you see parents going round Tesco with their kids in the buggies or trolleys. The parents give them some fruit or sweets from the isle. Then they present an empty packet at the end.

I just think thats wrong. Firstly, it is stealing, there is no eat now pay later policy, also it doesn't teach kids patience. Yes you can have that, but wait till we pay.

    Whats everyone else think?

I often eat a sandwich in tescos and pay for it at the till. If i'm hungry i'll buy far too much food so it's a cost-saving measure

its with upbrings which teach people no respect for others rights to make decisions (essentually that tesco might not wish to offer a buy now pay later), that help keep the northern people where they belong.

    Cant support eating before paying.

Have even seen some people eat and then get rid of the wrapper/packet before making it to the till. Security dont seem to care.

They should make it store policy to not open/consume good until paid for.

    Re: Isnt this stealing?

As another point of intrest, do you go about eating + drinking in stores?

If i've got a bottle of water, i won't open it or drink it in someone shop, its frankley rude.

Its really a double faux pas.

Tescos is different. If I go in there with the missus I could be hours - might pine away to nothing or die of dehydration.

I wouldn't in local shop (for local people).

Never been to a restaurant then?

It's up to the store to set rules about this and enforce it - my local does say that you must pay before consuming so it'd be up to them to enforce that if necessary.

I do tend to wait outside if I am drinking/eating something. I just think of spilling it on something!

Never done it, it's probably hardwired into me not to from very rule-abiding parents... you can bet it would be me that would get ticked off by staff if i ever did. sod's law.
