Personally I think it's a great idea.

Maybe I'm being optimistic but I very much doubt that anyone would bother taking the time to register and post in the forums if their only goal was to get free shipping from Scan - I reckon you'll get a lot more people who (and I include myself in this) have been wanting to get into in the forums for ages but could never 'find the time', and for whom this scheme just gives them the necessary incentive to stop putting it off and finally get involved!

for example, your username is jfowleruk, but your user ID is 37233.

I think it's the number of person joined if that makes sense? like you're the 37233rd person to join.

you may have to wait till after midnight, i think it also says that in one of the stickys around ere somewhere

failing that, one of the scan guys wll be able to sort it for you if you can't fathom it out
