First off, thanks to everyone for all their input...wow...never expected so many fun viewpoints
To answer your initial questions bigblue:
LOL...I got carried away...I tend to ramble on these days...call it boredom It could be a serious side effect of having to 'waffle' at many essay-type exams ...*shudder* (I prefer math based exams thank you!)
Also mind you, I was out shopping with Mom since she'll only be in London for another week or so. Don't paint me as some 'bozo' who goes out clothes/fashion shopping on a weekly basis LOL (it's more like once or twice per year...if at all!)
It's not a matter of them being common. Heck, you can stop me right there for wearing a couple Rolexes - it's the most 'common' watch brand out there...and it doesn't stop me from liking them.
JLC, Patek Philippe, IWC, A. Lange make pieces far superior in terms of finishing, complications as well as from a haute horologie aspect but also in very limited pieces (circa 30k watches per year, compared to 800k by Rolex). It's no secret that I'm a fan of Patek as well...but that's a different story..um, back on topic...
As I think I mentioned earlier, all my clothing is hand tailored since nothing in-store will ever fit me and for that reason I've never really been exposed to brand names as far as clothing is concerned - I've never been able to wear any. Clothes 'shopping' for me always means a visit to my tailor in Singapore.
I have never step foot inside a D&G, CK (etc) store...apart from probably having to brush past sections of clothing in larger malls when moving from point A to B - and I've never stopped because none of them will ever fit =)
Ah! thanks for answering my question...I know what you mean by the Burberry thing, as I recall reading an article about it some time back.
