lol thats certainly very true. since the smoking ban, non smokers in pubs/clubs have been very happy (although the smell of BO and fart isn't what i call a great atmosphere in more ways than one....). us smokers were given a choice, don't smoke or go outside. non smokers have a lot more luxury, and when there isn't that luxury they can just walk on by.

don't you just hate when your out in a pub/club and someone tries to squeeze past and they knock your drink all over you? I do, but i don't complain about it (well not too much). why? because i chose to be there, if i don't like it that much i could just not go.....

    Exactly.

If you can squeeze a fart out though, lean against her and do it so she feels the rasp on her arm and the smell permeates her clothes. If she doesn't like it, she can always walk off.

Almost exactly what I was thinking, but mine was more along the lines of "fart in a can", directed at their face

Point in the thread is.. Im 100% sure I would enjoy sniffing petrol, most drugs and excessive quantities of alcohol.... not that I do...

but smoking.. other than that rush (which im sure no long term smokers get anymore..) they do nothing for me. NOTHING. I dont care about the health issues either. Its supposed to feel good damnit . And yes I am breathing it in fully and it makes me caugh like hell..

knocking someones drink over is an accident 99% of the time. Standing right next to someone then lighting a cigarette in ur face then holding it there isnt. BAd example imo

All the people worth talking to smoke, so I find that the smoking area of most bars is so rammed it forces non's out there to make the night any good

    Re: Smoking

It was a joke, but you will find that many bars smoking areas are very busy and have many non smokers there purely because other people they want to talk to are there..

wasn't trying to put the blame on anyone.... just trying to highlight the similar choices people can make, to avoid the situations. even if it's not your fault, you have a choice. don't like it, don't be there. no one's forcing you and yes i know it's unfair if they came right up next to you, unless you want to make a point with them then just don't be near them. there's no law saying that smoking next to someone outside is illegal, so people aren't going to go out their way when they've already had a lot of places ruled out for smoking.

if it's any consilation, i try and stand away from people who don't smoke. not everyone who smokes is so unthoughtful

    Re: Smoking

I tried smoking at University a few times, as I had several friends who smoked and wanted to know what the fuss was all about. I found it 'Meh'.

There are simply no positives to smoking now:

    • The proven health risks
    • Smokers stink
    • Yellow fingers
    • Lower life expectancy
    • Increased health/life insurance costs
    • The cost of buying - most usually borne by the poorest members of society
    • Having to brave the outdoors to smoke
    • Being a social pariah
    • Benunderscore does it, so it's not cool

    Re: Smoking

Line from Family Guy last night...

    "If she smokes, she pokes"

    Cracked me up.

On a different note, smoked for seven years, at varying degrees of consumption, and quit when I got married. Went for a comprehensive medical at UCLA two years later, and the scans revealed a series of damaged modules in my lungs. Doctor informed me that it wasn't anything to worry about at the moment, as that's the kind of thing that happens when you smoke, but I'd have to keep my eyes on it in later life.

Something he said certainly gave me pause for thought....."Your body never forgives you for smoking, it's not a case of 'if', it's a case of 'when'....

And for all those people who'll point out 'I had an uncle who smoked until he was 104 years old' (Ben, I'm looking at you, spokesperson for the tobacco industry), blow it out your arse, I know of 5.4 million people who die from smoking related diseases every year.....

Waste of time and money. How many people who smoke would recommend the habit to a teenager?
