    Re: Should I be worried?

I don't think anything has changed. It's more our ability to see what's happening.

Take a look at the crime statistics in the East End in Victorian times or the razor gangs in Glasgow in the 1920s when people were being sliced open every day of the week.
We just see it more clearly now because we are bombarded with news reports telling us about it every day.

It's part of human nature that some people when faced with deprivation will work to get out of it, some will just accept it and some will lash out against others.

People have lost respect and patience with each other. Its a different era of living and the society we live in will only get worse until it "resets itself".
What I mean by that is 95% of the population dying.

    Re: Should I be worried?

Big question is how do you bring kids up in this kind of society, they see other kids doing the things mentioned and want to be part of it.

You can't just keep them in the house until they are 18 yr old. Trying to get across what is right and wrong is blurred by what they see out and about. It can make bringing kids up more difficult than it should be.

How do you condition them for the world they will step out into, by the time they are old enough will the decay of society be even worse than what it is now. Bring them up to soft and not streetwise enough and they could end up being shunned by friends. Give them a stronger upbringing and you are resented as a parent and they could end up not fitting in.

Absolutely right. Yes there are a comparatively small (OK, increasing) number of cretins in this country who like to make other people's lives a misery, but we could also be living in complete poverty in Africa with nothing but a mud hut to our names.

to the OP - simple: people are evil. there may be good things in one's life, but people ain't good, at the heart of it.

    sorry, 'tis the truth.

there is a solution, but am pretty sure that most people on this thread don't want to hear about it. c'est la vie.

    Re: Should I be worried?

I want to know the solution... anything to help solve the problem that my peer group are digging themselves, and me (through stereotypical association), into. Although, I do have to admit, that moral decline isn't happening. Rather, it's moral change - as I'm sure that most of my peer group (12-16 yr olds) would think the morals which I try to live up to, and the morals of my ancestors stuffy, limiting or possibly both.

I mean - there's not much really we can do.

Living in a town, going to school in a town, but doing work out in the countryside I can also definitely say that the "chavs" or the "homo dumbasses" of today are mostly in the towns. Those that are in the smaller villages, where they are brought up amongst mostly adults, or brought up under the same sort of moral values of the earlier generations, generally tend to be much more fun, more mature and more sensible.

It's one of these balance things. Do you go into the towns and take the disadvantages of living in a town such as the behaviour as a little setback against the advantages of living in a town (such as easy access to a place to shop, places to work, schools are more common and so on) or do you go into the countryside and spend more on petrol?

I know one thing for certain... In 50 or 60 years when I retire (if the government don't decide to work us till we're all 80 or 90) I'm going to the most remote place I can whilst still having an internet connection, and then hiding.... I can't stand towns, despite their many uses and advantages.

    Re: Should I be worried?

There is a solution but it's not a very practical one in these days of high tech weaponry.

In the old days we used to have a nice big war at least once every generation which thinned out the ranks of these lowlife cretins. They would be conscripted into the infantry and sent out to be slaughtered by the million.

The problem isn't that these selfish, respectless, inconsiderate scumbags are any worse than they have always been, it's that they have been allowed to breed uncontrollably. If an animal population, say deer, breed to the point where there are too many for the good of the herd they are culled.

    We need a chav cull.

Agree with everything you said Jay . Don't worry you are not alone in your thoughts , this country is falling apart with all the 'do-gooders' and politically correct crowd . I actually missed 'conscription ' but there was a lot to be said for it.

    Re: Should I be worried?

The problem with a "chav cull" is that they are, legally, human... Bit like Nobby from the Discworld series

Maybe we should say that hunting them is allowed, and they all have to apply for liscenses? That way, we can stand outside the place where they get issued and gun down everyone trying to get in...

Would hopefully cull off a fair few. Bombing the incity schools might cure the problem as wel...

So come on fuddam - what's the solution?

    Re: Should I be worried?

    How to sort it:

Sterilise anyone under the age of 60 for the next 20-30 years, and only release an antidote for people with a mental and financial stability to ensure they will actually support their kids.

Scrap soft prisons - ensure they punish people, not act as a hotel.

Ensure any treasonable activities (which include terroism by people who have taken British citizenship) is met with a death penalty.

    ^Drastic measures?

    Even I'm not that extreme....

I do admit though, THAT is possibly something that could work... although I can see the government accidentally selling bunches of antidotes to rich people... or forgetting to sterilise people that pay them enough money.

Would work in theory, but in practicality probably not.

You mean they would fight and die for their country, so that pricks like you would have the freedom to say things like that?

    Drastic situations = drastic measures.

Too many people, including too many mentally inadequate people who spoil the life of the majority - and only exist to breed and consume resources for others?

Why should this sort be allowed to breed?

People who want kids can adopt unloved and unwanted spawn of the affore mentioned scum - and perhaps turn them into something other than the "chav" subspecies they would be otherwise.

I do admit though, THAT is possibly something that could work... although I can see the government accidentally selling bunches of antidotes to rich people... or forgetting to sterilise people that pay them enough money.
If it helps - it's worth doing.

Would work in theory, but in practicality probably not.
If it was done properly - it would quite probably work.
