    Slightly odd first thread!

Hi guys, I stumbled upon this forum at a time when i have a bit of a problem.

Does anyone here have a cracking/clicking neck? Obviously loads of people have clicking fingers, ankles etc, but I'm talking about necks.

Ever since I receieved an injury to my neck a few years ago, I have had a horrible crackling/popping which is really frustrating

EDIT: When I turn to the left, I get a click I don't get when I turn to the right.

You're right.. It is an odd first post

Does your doctor have anything to say about it?

Not such an odd query in itself, but on a PC Forum... yeah, you're right, it is odd.

I get a kinda creaking noise from the back of my neck too. Seemingly caused by playing golf. Doc says it's nowt to worry about, so I believe him If you don't believe yours, go get a second opinion?

In my experience NHS doctors would tend to ignore these sort of "small" things... if you have insurance, go to a private doctor...

Try reseting your RAM and try a re-boot. If that doesn't work, try the graphics card.

Sorry Couldn't resist Try going to several doctors to see what they say for different opinions, if not; google.

    Re: Slightly odd first thread!

I have this... in the mornings when I've been sleeping funny... Once managed to trap a nerve in my shoulder joint.. 3 days of agony till the nerve endings were ground off (according to my doctor this is what happened anyway...)

You get this all the time or just because you're sleeping funny?
But still.. go to the doctor's, always useful

Go see a chiropracter - it's possible your neck alignment may be out (injuries a big clue anyway) and a few adjustments should sort it out

Having said that, it may not be anything to worry about, one of my colleagues last year had a cracking neck (not as in a brilliant neck) and deliberately cracked it to annoy people.

    Re: Slightly odd first thread!

Alternatively it could be extremely serious and require lifesaving surgery (NO I am not joking) the only people that are qualified to answer this type of question are doctors who specialise in this field, and even then it may require an MRI scan rather than a simple X-Ray to diagnose.

If you are unhappy with what you have been told ask for a second opinion, and continue asking until you get the treatment/diagnosis you need

Yep.. if, of course, you have the 6 months to sit in the waiting list if you go to the Public Health Service or the money to burn on the private health services...

When I wake up I can click my neck, my back, all my fingers, my toes, my knee my arms and most of my other joints. No pain or anything, just that I sleep funny

You sort of get a "clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick" sound when I stretch...

    Re: Slightly odd first thread!

It's all well and good being able to click your arms and ankles but from what I remember, if you got an injury to do with spine; what was once a small injury can quickly and disproportionately become a serious problem and couldd end up with permanent damage along the lines of paralysis etc.

I'm not Doctor but you should see a chiroprator dude as soon as possible
