    Smash a really tiny thing into another really tiny thing, at mahoosive speeds to see what happens 'n that, really.

    And to give you an idea of what we are dealing with here, the thing is smaller than an ant, and the speed is higher than 250 miles per hour.

    Well in reality there are a whole load more accelerators before the SPS, so the course looks more like this, with the protons starting at LINAC2 at the bottom:
