Man lands on Moon. There is nowt there. Man develops new, more efficient form of propulsion via particle physics to get to Moon in less time. There is still nowt there. The universe is thus explained; Man is um big slow learner and in an Espace, nobody can hear you scream.

    Alien invasion ftw!

Then maybe I can find a random shotgun lying around on the floor somewhere, along with a hyperblaster, a rail gun and other assorted alien technologies and invent mass produciton, copyright the technologies and then make a fortune once Freeman's killed them all off...

Re: Black hole doom for all on the 10th September?

Update on schedule to LHC black hole doom:

Yesterday, the LHC ops team successfully injected a beam of protons from the SPS (the penultimate accelerator in the LHC accelerator chain) into the LHC, and brought the beam around one sector of the LHC - an eighth of the ring. This was a day ahead of schedule, so all is still looking good for first collisions on the 10th of September

The 7 TeV test was successfully completed and has been operating for a week now. Concerns about space-time anomalies appear to be wide of the mark.

It would be the best place for it... Just nuke France and Switzerland off the map to make sure we get rid of them all, I think it would be an acceptable loss!
