Gotta admit I'm enjoying it, but partly that's because I'm enjoying screaming at it at times.
<muttering> Merlin the same age as Arthur, Gwen fancying Merlin, and being a blacksmith's daughter (when in all the other stories she's Arthur's wife and a Cornish princess), Arthur having a crush on his half-sister (although that does sort of crop up in some other versions)...<muttering>
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
I take it that very few people went and looked at the Merlin/Arthur legends before they wrote the script for this then? From what people have said it seems a little inconsistent..

Thomas doesn't age in the elven foresty place, it's one of the enchantments. He doesn't get physically older if I remember correctly. Pug, however, just can't die, so does get older.
Mentally, Pug outstrips Thomas anyway. Althouhg, naturally, it could be said that they are the same mental age...
Oh yes - and you have to remember that Pug goes back and forth in time all the while, and therefore it's a little hard to age him, similarly with Marcos the Black.
Don't know about Raistlin/Cameron one though... Don't understand that reference.

That's either insulting or dead on. Or both.
I'll decide when I eventually get to sleep.
Good post.
But they START the story similar age, as do Merlin and Arthur. (Thomas is kept yound by his ARMOUR, not the elven forest though, its Valheru armour)
Caramon / Raistlin. Dragons of Autumn Twighlight/Spring Dawning etc. Dragon Lance books. They are TWINS, ones a big hard fighter, one's a weedly little uber-mage.
