Is it possible to have your GP do something like an MOT. Is there such thing?
I want to know if I'm healthy under my skin.

Not sure if your GP will do that, most likely he will refer you to a private clinic to do such a thing.
But yes, it does exist.
The company I work for pays for its staff to have a "health MOT" every 3 years. They check lots of things, and write a report for you and your GP. Takes several hours. Worth doing, but its not cheap, probably set you back about 300 quid.
Edit: Sorry, I read it as Healthy.
My old boss used to go to the "well man " clinic a few years back , he said it was like an m.o.t
Yup, just go to Bupa. Cost you 500 quid though.

Not worth doing and definitely not cheap - if you don't feel sick, you're probably not sick :-P
Catching things like cancer before it gets chance to do serious damage, which in the early stages you wouldn't even know was there and therefore would categorise yourself as 'don't feel sick so I'm not sick', can save your life.
If, like myself, you have a family history of fatal medical problems it's good to get a thorough thumbs up to put any worrys out of your mind.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the desire to know that everything is working as it should be especially once you get to the 'midlife' years. It's your money, your health and your peace of mind.
Of course it's good to catch any illness sooner rather than later. However, with these "check ups" you're only getting some assurance that you're (probably) OK at the time of the appointment, so unless you're going to fork out several hundred pounds every few months it's not really a long term solution.
In the case of illnesses which are commonly occurring in your family your GP should be looking out for these for you, and by being aware of them you can either mitigate against them, or identify the warning signs.
Although, you're absolutely correct, if it's your money (or better still, someone else's) and you see value in it then go ahead - just I'd advise against it :-)
