Thats kind of what I thought last night when he said it in the program.

But hey, this is all just idle speculation until the update from Heston is 3 months. We wait with bated breath

Re: Big chef takes on little chef

On the way to a site earlier I was on the 303, and stopped at the Popham L'Chef, but could even get a space in the car park! So would have loved to have reported back but no, I expect the place will be swarming for the next few weeks due to the programs.

Re: Big chef takes on little chef

Bodes well for the three month trial.

With a nation wide roll out and the right marketing, this really could be the turn around for Little Chef.

Re: Big chef takes on little chef

Tbh I should have expected it to be packed out after it had aired on C4.

Trouble Ive found with little chef is, literally 6 miles from the Popham one theres another branch on the same side of the carriageway! Cant be good for business having 2 units open so close to each other, also both of these units are on the same side going west-bound theres nothing at all going east!

Re: Big chef takes on little chef

The 3 month trial is going to be HEAVILY influenced with all the publicity the programs have bought it.

So personally I think its a bit of a waste of time/not a fair representation/indication of what business would normally be like.

couldnt agree more, would have been easy to make it a fair assessment but they chose not to.

Re: Big chef takes on little chef

Also Im thinking it will effect the other little Chefs in the area, as everyone wont bother stopping at those, and want to go and see and taste the new menu at Popham.

I fear they may have shot themselves in the foot with this one.

Re: Big chef takes on little chef

well if they are taking into account that this will happen then it should be ok, after all - its a chain, as long as one is raking it in during something short term like this then its all fine, if the others drop off for a few months.

when its all over all they need is a few "now serving Heston menu" or whatever and they all become equal again

Re: Big chef takes on little chef

Just watched them all and thought it was a good little series.

The head of little chef was typical management type I hate the management talk like blue sky thinking just sounds so stupid.

I really want to try little chef again. hoping they do roll it out country wide
