I wear Fenchurch jeans - Google them and you can find some on sale for around 30 quid - I find these well comfortable. Not toooo baggy as some skate type makes can be.

Go to TKMaxx - look in your size and grab a bunch - a quick way to try the fit from loads of manufacturers!

FIrst thing I was going to suggest. I had the same problem as you, diff waist, and I found a pair of ben shermans that were a perfect fit! £35 was the price I paid.
