Films can change moods. Carefull you don't sequence them to promote suicide. I'd include Airplane in there somewhere along with Army of Darkness and Predator. High Noon is another good one. The list goes on.

Have you got any costs for this yet ?.

I'd have to presume that this would be VERY expensive what with the fees to movie studios etc to stay legal ?. You could choose to 'invite' people and rather than have them pay for a ticket have them make a 'donation' of some sort to cover costs but this can't be a cheap thing to do otherwise we'd have heard of people allready organising similar events ?...

    The Great Escape
    Spaceballs
    Various Bond films

    are what I'd suggest.

Just to clarify in case you are planning on going ahead with this and inviting Hexus users etc. (as it isn't entirely clear from the OP), these are just friendly suggestions, I wouldn't be interested going or anything.

Its a fantastic idea, but I fear it'd fail due to licensing

Have tried persuading several cinemas that sundays should be golden oldies days - Run classic films back to back, such as star wars 4,5 and 6 back to back, or the indiana Jones trilogy. They all agree that its a superb idea, but the costs involved in getting the films are unreal.

But for the record, I'd be adding Withnail and I to the list! Played around 8pm, so the audience can match the drinks.....

Private viewings are different though. One of the small cinemas here used to let you do that, no idea if they still do though.

Some Kind Of Wonderful ( ok, its prolly just me that loves it)

    Scum

    Bad Taste (aww go on)

    A Clockwork Orange

    Deep Throat (ok, not really)
We're only here for the Banter - The Luvvies - Chewin' The Fat

Violence and Lubrication is the solution to fixing everything, if it still doesn't work, you need more lubrication.
