Can nobody stand up to Israel?

Many of you will have seen recently the coverage of the racism conference in Geneva recently, and it is quite shocking. Many european diplomats walked out of the conference simply on the basis Ahmadinejad was singling out Israel as a racist entity.

Israel has commited war crime after war crime, but yet nobody is allowed to remain critical of Israel. Israel has completely gone against UN resolutions. It has been the target of over 220 so far. Yet the US for example needs only one example of a UN violation to go and invade and destroy a country. It's quite incredible.

Some of Ahmadinejad's comments at the conference were out of line, but he was underlining a very undeniable truth - Zionism is fundamentally racist. How is it that an ideaology that calls for the displacement of a people to make way for Jews not racist? Isn't this what Nazi Germany did? The Nazis singled out the Jews and persecuted them. How about apartheid South Africa? I don't see any other countries in the world where there are settlements only Jews are allowed to enter.

Israel's racist policy of ethnic-cleansing was recently exposed (and ignored) again with the eviction of many Arab residents from occupied East Jerusalem. How about the hundreds of Arab villages Israel completely wiped out? And I've just found this on the net:

How about the fact that Israel massacred many innocent people in Gaza this year, with no real opposition (apart from Hamas ) whatsoever?

It's no secret Israel consistently oppresses civilians in the West Bank and Gaza (AND Arabs in Israel), yet no one is allowed to open their mouths without being called 'anti-semetic'.

+1 on Whiternoise image. It's because the US are backing Israel. Simple as really. Besides no likes to be labelled anit-jew. And then you have Israel "omg but we went through the holocaust" ergo we are allowed to do anything.

And yes, some of Ahmadinejad comments were out of line and not in keeping with UN politeness, he did however hit the nail on the head. But I think the mass walkout was a joke and mostly a reflection on us - just confirming that we are happy to ignore Israel actions and allow them to do whatever they want.

I have spent the majority of my working life working around the Middle East in a military capacity and i can honestly say, i have seen what things are like 1st hand. Albeit not in Palestine, but definitely the like of the Gulf state countries.

With the 'rolling-eyes' attitude and the safety of school/university, it is blatantly obvious you know little more than you have seen on the news.

Its a shame that the WMD issue also seems raise its head. How can you form an honest opinion of rights or wrongs when you have no idea what these countries are actually like. Wikipedia and SKY News will only take you so far!
