I'm only 23 but ridiculous hours at the computer mean that i'm experiencing the beginnings of back pain, i need stories from elders to scare me into being more strict about my posture and hours at the computer!

If you don't sort your life out, you gonna die!*

Sit up straight, young man.
If you don't, your head may fall off AND we will beat you on the legs with cricket bats.*

More seriously, the worst backache I had was from running with a heavy pack on a semi-regular basis. I'm a real slouch, I look like I've been poured into a chair from a bucket, sometimes. I've not suffered from bad backache for a long while and I'm sitting in front of PC for most of my time now but if you're suffering try to keep it in mind whenever you're sitting...?
Just ask Igor:
Get yourself checked out at a chiropractor or osteopath.
Posture is important, do you have the correct type of chair, not some £29.99 comfy job from Tesco?
I gave a girl carpet burn on her back once 'exercising'
Does that count as back pain?
Im beginning to get backpain as well.
I think its the £15 computer chair I use.
I cant afford a better chair atm thou.
Is your computer use mainly at work? If so, go see an occupational therapist and get them to write a note demanding that your bosses pay for a decent chair, and remind them that it's more cost effective to do that than when you take them to court because of your chronic back pain in later years.
Early back pain can be signs of a collapsed groin.*
*Fact.
This is a good excuse to splash out on a nice chair
I used to suffer from serious back pain.
It turned out that i had 'fungus on the spine'. I underwent surgery in which they removed my spine, give it a wash, polished it up nice and then returned it to my back.
Now i live my life totaly pain free!
Highly recommend this advice myself. I'm only 18, and have had serious problems with my back for at least the last 5 years... eventually my GP recommended I find an osteopath (not on NHS though). Now I've been diagnosed with scoliosis, and the treatment is working wonders for my back. It's always best to get it sorted asap, because you only make it worse as the years pass by.
Yes, posture is usually part of the problem, but it's very hard in my opinion to correct that mentally, it needs physical correction as well.
I'm 34 and suffer with back pain especially at the moment as I am decorating the house. After painting I can be in agony afterwards. I'd love to be able to afford to pay someone to do it but we're watching the pennies at the moment.
Other than the good advice given of seeing a chiropractor or osteopath, I can highly recommend Movelat gel. Works wonders that stuff. Far better than Deep Heat, etc.
backlicker?
