Day 1: Dining in Singapore, After a Day of Hardcore Shopping...

    Hiya folks,

Thought you'd enjoy some of these snaps so here goes!

A better shot of the 13.3" MacBook Pro, latest model that was announced 15 days ago at the WWDC in San Francisco.

For a more detailed writeup, and with full coverage of our dinner (ah the most important part), you may read all about it here.

Hope you enjoyed the pics; will be taking many more over the course of the next few days

Believe it or not he's a (recently ex?) student

I really want the new Macbook, guess it was bound to happen - got mine a couple of months ago, low and behold they bump it up, add in the SD slot (would be really handy) and make it backlit as standard. Oh and of course the rebate that can get you an iPod touch on top of the edu discount.

I had a look on your site, Mike, dinner looked good!

That's always a fun question to tackle. These days officially unemployed and still waiting for my Uni (King's in London) to ratify my results. The past couple months comprised of much reading up on electrostatics, magnetostatics & Maxwell's equations (integral and derivative forms), working on my research paper, modelling a Gundam & painting it as well, and watching a lot of Anime

I sort of miss the good old days when Apple only announced an update, oh, little over 8-months to some time to a year (or longer when it came to G5s). However, the trouble with Apple at the time was the hardware was always years older than what was on offer in the PC market and this has thankfully changed since they switch to Intel inside only.

Could you not get the HE discount? The edu discount is considerably less. No discounts here in Singapore but I do get the GST back when I leave at Changi [Airport] but they were offering 20% off on the 2-year ACPP extension so I took that as well and got 5% off on the Apple Airport Extreme unit.

Ah, a very noble time waster indeed

You got the red 360 controller, i wish MS would sell the battery pack separately, i bought the Red console but the idiots didn't provide a rechargeable battery pack with it, and i hate normal batteries

Those food pictures have made me hungry. Looked very nice as well.

Re: Day 1: Dining in Singapore, After a Day of Hardcore Shopping...

Yeah i got HE, ordered it from the campus network - so it was a good £100 cheaper than normal. But they don't normally refresh their lineups this quickly! (actually what i miss most is the UberBattery, although i guess in some ways i'm lucky i bought mine before they made them non user serviceable).

How have they changed RAM/HD swapouts? One mine you have to take the battery out to access the slots...
